Spending the weekend making room to set up a home “store”. Finally having a space to set up the grids and have all product easy to find will help with doing inventory, and hopefully a long awaited proper web store. This is such a huge undertaking with the volume of stock on hand but I know it will be well worth it in the end. 😅

Since I’ve done a bunch of bigger dog items up recently I thought I should do a quick batch of 100 5/8” XS (9-14”) buckles for the littles. This size and width combination is great for new puppies or smaller dogs, as well as puppy go home collars for litters. These are all available and priced at $16 per plus tax/shipping. Breeders can qualify for a discount on puppy items.

Anyone local to Calgary with woodworking skills open to barter collars for your time & skills? I have a basic idea of what I’m looking for as far as a more portable display unit set up and thought I’d put some feelers out.

I’ve intentionally left the Velcro a little longer to allow for smaller bows to fit wider collars which can be trimmed down to size to fit the collar width you use.

Another project coming off the back burner this week are our Sailor bows!

There will be 3 sizes available with a focus mainly on medium for premade stock. A batch is currently underway that will be posted just as soon as they are finished. They attach the same as our collar flowers, with a center strip of Velcro that wraps around the collar.

I’ve been meaning to come up with a tag bag design keeps tags up and out of the way. Simply put your tag(s) in the pocket, wrap it around the collar and close the snap. These fit up to 1 1/2” wide collars and should fit standard dog tags (and very likely apple air tags as well). Pictured below on a 3/4” width.

I don’t know about you guys, but I’m getting tired of the rainy and overcast days. I need me some sunshine!

While waiting for Mother Nature to cooperate I decided to whip up some 1 1/2” florals last night. These ones are either M (13-20”) or L (15-23”) and priced at $28 + tax/shipping.

It’s been a while since I’ve posted customs so here they are.

I have 10 solid nylon 1” hands-free leashes available as someone just bailed on their custom order.

These are regular size (24-42” belt) with an adjustable leash segment ranging from 22-40”. Priced at $35 plus tax per.

Colours include yellow, coral, hot pink, red, lavender, apple green, medium blue, navy blue, Coyote brown, and black.

Digging around in the workshop I found two bins of partially sewn collar strips and decided they should be finished over the long weekend and put on sale. These are all woven ribbon stitched onto black heavyweight polypropylene webbing (like I did for years before I brought in nylon webbing). They have a mix of plastic and metal sliders and are all plastic buckles, using up some older hardware.

Question for my local customers:

I don’t do a lot of vendor events at the moment. They are usually fairly expensive, ranging from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars for a booth space depending on the venue and length in duration. As you can imagine, it takes a LOT of work to get everything packed up, hauled over to the grounds (several loads in the back of the SUV), set up, packed up, and hauled home again. I also can’t be away from the dogs for long periods right now as my youngest is very high energy and not trustworthy loose so is crated when I am not home and my oldest requires frequent potty trips.

If I were to set up a somewhat permanent booth at my house, would there be interest in shopping in person if I was “open” a weekend or two a month? This would mean I would still only do a few main events a year, namely Pet Fest at Spruce Meadows and AKC dog show August long weekend at their new location out by Okotoks (and possibly Spruce Meadows Christmas Market next year if I can afford the booth fees).

I have also been considering creating a smaller and much more portable set up for single day events and at dog related activities that have space for vendors, but would need to find someone who could build some wooden display elements as I have neither the tools nor the skills required to construct them myself.

They are measured from where the fabric ends on the male buckle to the very end of the female buckle with the control loop laying flat, and adjusted to the minimum and maximum for each size.

The sizes and prices are as follows:

If your preferred collar is a 1 1/2” M (14-20”) satin wrapped ribbon webbing martingale then you are in luck! I have a fresh batch of 117 of them up for grabs.

These are priced at $33 CAD each plus tax/shipping and easily fit the letter mail “slot of doom” for cheaper national shipping rates. I’m always happy to ship outside of Canada so feel free to tag your family, friends, and fellow dog enthusiasts.

I dug out two bins of started collar strips from several years ago and decided to finish what I could from what was inside of the bins. I am now left with just one bin of control loop sized strips left, 2 strips in almost every design. This means if you see something you like and it has either already been claimed or you need a larger size just shoot me a message and I can verify if I have uncut ribbon and coordinating satin in stock and can make another.

Another batch of ribbon buckle-on webbing martingales. This time the collar bodies and connecting straps are both 1 1/2” wide with a reduced 1” solid nylon control loop.

There is one of each pattern available in each size, for a total of 25 M & 25 L.

M measures 16.5-21”
L measures 18-24.5”

*measurement is taken from end of material on the male buckle to the very tip of the female buckle, measured with the control loop laying flat.

Thank you for your kind words and patience as I adjust to life without Hunter. I won’t lie, losing two dogs back-to-back in less than 4 months has been especially hard.
