I think the hardest truth when it comes to health & fitness is that so many people end up needing something truly scary to happen to their health in order for them to become conscious to the idea of investing their time, money, and effort into creating different outcomes.

I’ve seen so many guys start & stop different programs, not be able to create the traction they want - all because the first phase of doing things differently (working out, eating differently, having different awareness) is HARD.

But the hard thing to hear is this…

It’s only hard because your consequences aren’t harsh enough.

Slipping back into doing nothing physically, eating without any awareness, drinking, partying, whatever it may be is just SO MUCH EASIER. Path of least resistance. What’s the cost? Ah I just kinda stay where I am right now… that’s no big deal I’m fine here.

Not a life altering consequence to just stay comfortable.

So the question becomes… how harsh does the consequence have to be in order for it to become real for you?

Here’s the crazy part.

The harsher the consequence - aka the longer you wait to make the changes you know would create different outcomes, the harder the change will be.

When you start making the changes that create different outcomes when the consequence is minimal… the easier the actions feel like.

But when the consequence is minimal - it becomes “it’s just not that big of a problem” aka just a waiting game until the consequences become large enough.

Notice the irony?

You honestly have a LIFETIME of training in front of you to get to the point where you really own these movements with this weight.

There are definitely milestones beyond this point. But if your goal is to get strong training with bells… this should be at the top of your goal list.

Your training should reflect it as long as the goal isn’t checked off.
