As Speech Language Pathologists, we are often asked by our post-stroke patients and their families what is life after stroke. It is our role to give hope to our patients and do the best that we can to help them become fully recovered. Most of the time, we tell them that spontaneous recovery is possible and extensive rehabilitation aids in facilitating faster recovery.
It is not known to everyone that SLPs also handle geriatric or adult patients. Adult SLP Services in health care would include catering to patients with communication, cognition and swallowing difficulties that are mostly caused by stroke, traumatic brain injury and other diseases like Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s and multiple sclerosis.

A red flag indicates a child's failure to reach speech and language milestones at a certain age. Simply known as warning signs, they may indicate a speech and/or language problem. Below are some of the warning signs you need to watch out for in children up to 4 years of age. Speech and language delays can be determined as early as these ages and early intervention may be provided.
