This recipe was created special for .sisters

Wanted to share in case anyone else needed a little energy boost during the day 💗

It’s a chocolate peanut butter protein ball. I made it simple because I know not everyone has the crazy amounts of ingredients that I do in my kitchen 🙈🤪 haha

INGREDIENTS:
1 cup oats
2 tbsp peanut butter
1 tbsp cocoa powder
1 tbsp honey
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
4 dates (pitted)
2 tbsp water
Pinch of salt

HOW TO:
Combine all ingredients in a food processor and mix until mixture becomes chunky

scoop out a little bit and roll into a 1 inch ball

makes approximately 12 to 14 balls

Store in the refrigerator for 10 to 15 minutes

While you’re waiting you can make the chocolate sauce to go on top 😋

CHOCOLATE SAUCE:
3 tbsp coconut oil
1/4 cup cocoa powder
2-3 tbsp maple syrup
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
Pinch salt

*whisk together over low-med heat until melted and combined

FINISHING TOUCHES:
Take your chilled pb protein balls out from the fridge and dip into chocolate sauce

Top it off with cacao nibs, h**p seeds, Gigi berries, shredded coconut, anything your heart desires

Then place on plate, Tupperware or parchment paper and let harden in fridge or freezer.

NOTES:
- you will have extra chocolate sauce, you can use it on fruit, popcorn, granola, in a smoothie, the possibilities are endless!
- if you ❤️pb like I do add an extra tbsp
- chocoholic? 🍫 Add an extra tbsp cocoa or chocolate chips
- if you add extra cocoa or pb, or maybe you just like sweet things add 1-2 more tbsp honey
- no honey 🍯? No problem try: maple syrup, extra dates, or ripe bananas
- Don’t like peanuts 🥜? Sub so almond butter
- Want extra protein add in h**p seeds or chia seeds

Hope this helps keep you energized and full throughout your day!

Be sure to tag me or let me know how it goes, enjoy 😉

It’s finally starting to heat up!☀️

As a kid, summer used to always be my favorite, no school, going swimming, hanging out with friends, and getting to stay up late we’re some of the reasons I loved the summer months.

As I’ve gotten older, I’ve learned to appreciate all the seasons, but summer has sadly fallen a few spots down my list especially since our place doesn’t have air-conditioning which makes sleeping at night pretty unbearable and trying to work during the day can be really tiring haha

I am not always the biggest water fan so I started experimenting with ways to make water taste better to stay hydrated buuutt without any of the artificial sweeteners and mystery ingredients.

I started out by just making iced tea with some of my favorite herbal teas and then transitioned into some more fun ones.

The drink in the photo is actually something that was inspired by an article I read about how families used to drink a tangy drink called switchel (Try saying that 5 times fast! 😂)

Switchel is a fun cheaper alternative to lemonade. It typically uses some type of vinegar to give it its tangy kick. In this recipe I used apple cider vinegar.

So anyway this is basically my version of a switchel:
1/2 strawberries (blended and strained)
4 cups water
4 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
4 Tbsp honey
1 lime (squeeze out all that juicy goodness)
Combine and refrigerate. Serve neat or on the rocks 😉

Let me know what you think or if you come up with any tasty new flavors ☺️

Can you believe we’re already half way through 2021?! 🤯

The older I get the more the saying, “The says are long, but the years are short” really resonates.

The month of June holds a lot of celebrations like Father’s Day, birthdays, and strawberry season!

These little babies I hand picked at a local organic farm. It was raining the day we went so all the berries we picked were soaked and mushy from the rain water by the time we got home, so I ended up making some jam out of them 🥰

It was surprisingly easy and really really delicious, and I’m not typically a jam/jelly kind of gal.

Check out my previous post for a quick vid on how to make some of your own

Happy Hump day y’all 😘🍓

Just admiring the beauty that is the Earth, the U.S., the PNW.

Thankful for all that is and all that will be. For experiences present and memories past.

Fortunate for the good and the bad, every feeling be it happy or sad.

Each moment is different than the last never repeating never the same.

With every second and with every breath we experience something new, something different and something unchanged.

This is the glory that be the journey which we call life.

And while it may have depths to which you can’t describe and feelings that which you cannot contain in an instant it can all be taken away. Without consent nor reason everything’s changed.

So celebrate today, live in this moment and cherish each day that passes.

Follow the path of your heart and see where it takes you. This is your journey, your purpose, your life force.

Happy New Year!! 🎉

We made it through!💗

Last year was definitely one of the toughest growing periods in my life.

After having lost both my jobs, being unemployed, moving out of state, and coming to light with who I am and what I really love...
It’s really been quite the journey.

With many moments of confusion, stress, tears...but most of all hope.

While I may not be who I want to be today, I’m learning to love who I am unconditionally and love the process.

As someone who has struggled with perfectionism, self-doubt, anger, anxiety, and depression.
I’m honestly proud to see how far I’ve come.

My New Years resolution is to continue practicing more self love and acceptance.

Sending you so much love 🙏💗 This is your year, your chapter, your moment. Happy 2021! 😘

What does meditation look like?
Sometimes it’s just about finding 10 minutes in your day that you can dedicate to yourself and your awareness of self.

For me that just so happens to be after taking a shower.

Don’t let the idea of some thing keep you from doing it.

Good morning! ☀️ Just beginning my day with some mint tea.

Tea time story:
Many moons ago I used to work at Starbucks and by default I became a coffeeholic 🤪

As time went on, what used to be a delicious treat became an enemy. I would experience the jitters and even crashes. Coffee was soon something that avoided because I didn’t like the after affect.

Mint tea was my gateway into the tea world. Since, I’ve tried many tea varieties (more recently the authentic loose leaf teas) and I even drink it without any sweetener (however, when I first started I would use lots and lots of honey 🍯 ).

Whether you’re a tea lover or coffee lover, I wanted to share why Mint tea is my go to tea and why I love it so much 😍

Mint tea:
-no caffeine, so no jitters
-eases stomach
-helps relieve gas and bloating
-helps with nausea
-improves digestion
-helps reduce fevers
-improves mental awareness
-smells heavenly and helps with bad breath
-you can bring a tea packet with you anywhere and just ask for hot water and voila 🪄

Cheers! 🍵 ☕️

Excited? Me? Nahhh 😆

It’s been a while since I took a break from working. While micro breaks are good I.e nights off, weekends, etc.

When we give our bodies the time to recharge much like fasting or just as the seasons change throughout the years, that is when we have the ability to do our best work. 💗

Doesn’t need to be expensive or in some far off place.
-Simply be still
-Release yourself from judgment
-Accept that simply being is normal and okay
-Spend time with loved ones
-Eat food that makes you feel warm and cozy
-Do activities that light you up -And probably the most important: disconnect from the media that bombards your daily life (or a least lessen your exposure )

And remember all that you need is within you. Whether it be peace, happiness, joy, you are the creator of your universe. Be present, be well, and be you 😘

Some say it’s an acquired taste 🧐

I personally started drinking it for all the health benefits that it promotes.

is a great source of probiotics (great for the little guys in our gut) and contains antioxidants (renowned for its anti aging benefits).

Personally, I started drinking it for the benefits and as another alternative to water 😂 (as much as I love H2O my taste buds crave a little excitement once in a while)

All kombucha is made up of one common ingredient: fermented tea. After that, each brand puts their own packaging and flavor twist. And that’s it!

It can be quite bubbly, much like a soda, I find that by pouring it into a glass it helps bring down the carbonation, so that I’m not burping as much 🙊

Have you ever tried kombucha? What’s your favorite?

I couldn’t have said this better myself 👏🏻❤️

20/09/2020

I couldn’t help myself. 🙈

I was so excited to be able to bake again and this time I even had a kitchen island to make it easier. As you may know, I’m obsessed with baking 😍 so I woke up this morning full throttle ready to make some muffins.

With fall starting to settle in, I was in the mood to make some cinnamon apple muffins with some raisins and walnuts to give it a little extra kick.

Can’t wait to see how they turn out 😋

Photos from vitaphilo's post 19/09/2020

Sooo I have a confession to make...I’m obsessed with

I love their millet bowl, vegan bacon cheeseburger (oh, yeah it exists and it’s way better than any impossible burger), and of course the pudding.

I love how I feel after I eat anything from Pixie and I especially love the ingredients that they use in all of their food. Simple, pure, and delicious.

Since it’s Friday I decided to treat myself to a Lil’ Puddin’. The chocolate & karmal is one of my favorites 🤤

BREAKFAST TIME:
This morning Makenna has served a deliciously mouth watering bowl of Chocolate covered cherry 🍒 oatmeal with a dabble of almond butter.
My first attempt at documenting my breakfast in a food photographer fashion. Better photos to come 😉

Food can nourish us or slowly kill us. “Listen to your body”, is an understatement.

Eating healthy and following what your body needs is CRITICAL to not just living, but 𝙏𝙃𝙍𝙄𝙑𝙄𝙉𝙂 in your body.

Just because something is sold at the grocery store or because your friend, family member, or younger self can eat it doesn’t mean you should.

Most people don’t give a hoot (or other animal sound) about what they put into their body until it debilites them!

Don’t allow yourself to get to that point. It’s like slowly pushing yourself off a cliff and expecting an easy climb up. It’s much easier to just stay out of the hole to begin with.

Listening to what your body can and can’t handle is a journey and a fun one of you let it.

Start slow, find alternatives to your favorite foods and snacks. Look at restaurants that offer things that agree with your body or better yet prepare something at home using a recipe you find online. (One of my favs )

Living a healthy life doesn’t have to be scary. 😈 You just need to start somewhere. 1️⃣ Even if that means making homemade ramen instead of buying it prepackaged. 🍜

Wherever you are in your journey, keep going! You know your body much better than you think you do, it might just be time for you to tune in and ask, “How’s it going?”

Those who are tired of:
- gas
- bloating
- diarrea
- constipation
- fatigue
- headaches
- (this list could go on forever 😩)

Say aye! 🙌🏻 to reclaiming your birth right to abundance, happiness, and longevity

You most certainly deserve it

So what are you waiting for?

Go get it 😉
