Comrade Luka Panpe Yakubu: The Man with the credentials to rule Plateau state.

IN every assemblage of human beings as a family unit, kindred, organisation or geo-political entity – the pursuit and fulfilment of their collective interests and aspirations are derived principally from the quality of their leadership or management.

Resource endowments are one thing, but effective leadership remains the critical success factor for the development and progress of any entity.

In March next year, the electorate of Plateau State will go to the polls to elect a Governor that would steer their affairs for a term of four years. It is not enough for the people to look forward to better days ahead, but they should exercise their right to make an informed choice of who of the candidates is equipped, competent and willing to make positive impact on their socio-economic and political well-being. Take the sterling example of comrade Luka Panpe Yakubu.

Comprehensively educated and has over the years acquired competencies and exposure that have established him as an asset to people and organisations he has worked for and interacted with.

Evidently a wise choice for his party, comrade Luka Panpe Yakubu will bring to bear on the office of Governor of Plateau State, commendable credentials – in knowledge, experience, prudence and integrity. He has a clear, realistic and feasible agenda for the development of the State.

SUCCINCT NOTES ON PROPAGANDA: PLATEAU STATE GUBERNATORIAL ELECTION AND YOU:

Let me start (in alphabetical order) by reminiscent on the following FACTS, that:
(1).Dr Nentawe Yilwada of APC was once a resident electoral commissioner in Benue .
(2). Dr. Dakum Patrick of the Labor Party has hosted a radio program on PRTV for years.
(3). Bar. Caleb Mutfwang of the PDP was once a local government chairman.
(4).Comr. Luka Panpe of PRP once served as Director in the State Public Service.

If you do a Fact Check then (True).

However, the last Seven Days to the Governorship election holding on 11th March,2023 is already laden with PROPAGANDA against the candidates. Lies and evil machinations have been unleashed by supporters across different divides as strategies to woo support for their preferred candidates. There are lies against candidates, their ethnic groups, respected Plateau elders, honourable political and religious leaders etc. It is a MIND GAME that is usually played out of emotions and desperation to sale candidates.

WHAT IS A PROPAGANDA?
Simply put:
Propaganda is the dissemination of information—facts, arguments, rumours, half-truths, or lies—to influence public opinion especially as it regards political campaigns.
It has been used since the 17th century for religious missions, war, marketing, politics and so on.

BUT FOR WHAT PURPOSE AND INTENTIONS?

Propagandist primary objective is to mislead people. They systematically put their efforts toward manipulating others. They manipulate people’s beliefs, attitudes, or actions by means of symbols such as words, gestures, banners, court cases, quotations, monuments, jingles, music, inscription on clothing, insignia, hairstyles, designs and graphics, stamps, and so forth. Deliberateness and a relatively heavy emphasis on manipulation distinguish propaganda from casual conversation or the free and easy exchange of ideas. Propagandists have a specified goal or set of goals. To achieve these, they deliberately select facts, arguments, and displays of symbols and present them in ways they think will have the most effect. To maximize effect, they may omit or distort pertinent facts or simply lie, and they may try to divert the attention of the reactors (the people they are trying to sway) from everything but their own propaganda.

IMPLICATIONS?
The implications are that people would believe them. People are going to create unnecessary animosity; friendships would go sour; families would be torn apart; consciousness would be thrown to the bins; kinsmen would be at loggerheads etc. While these are happening, the propagandist would be celebrating their temporary joy.

WHAT TO DO?
Do not be easily carried away. Fact check every information on line and ensure that you always consult your conscience. Stay firm to whom you believed. Capacity and competencies are not sold on line or social media platforms. They are realities that no one can take away through propaganda.

CONCLUSION?
So when next you see a write up saying Nentawe this, Mutfwang that, Dakum this, and Panpe that; do not be troubled. After all, we are all humans seeking the opportunity to serve. But the truth is, we cannot all be "a governor at the same time". One of us must emerged victorious.
Do your part and ALLOW PLATEAU STATE to win.
Politics shall come and pass, but Plateau shall suffice.

CONDOLENCES AND PRAYERS FOR THE QUICK RECOVERY OF THE SICK.

My heart goes out to the immediate families, the leadership of PDP, the Governorship candidate and the entire PDP family on the Plateau over the accident that claimed the lives of their loved ones.

It is my sincere prayers that God will comfort all, and grant quick recovery to the sick.

May I equally call on all supporters to exercise caution in the choice of campaign engagements especially the mode of road usage and maneuver.

The year we've all prayed for (especially Nigerians) is here before us.

Permit me to start by saying HAPPY NEW YEAR to us all. I pray this year brings us the best that there is in all that we do and in all that concerns us.

I also want to say that Nigeria, and particularly Plateau State would remain as it has been the past seven to eight years if we get to make the mistake we made about eight years back. This year we are presented with an opportunity to right our wrongs, to set the tone for what to expect for the next four years or eight years, as it were. The ball has returned to our side of the court and it's time we decide what to do with it.

It is time we change the narratives. It is time we BRING BACK GODLINESS INTO GOVERNANCE. It is time we put smiles on the faces of the common man, making the child of a nobody become somebody even without knowing anybody. It is time we make Plateau State rise again. It is time we RECLAIM PLATEAU.

HAPPY NEW YEAR once again

My fellow Plateau sons and daughters, the time to is here and now.

Together, we can make Plateau State our beloved again.

RECLAIMING PLATEAU for all is an ideology that seeks to bring inclusive governance where the people would be at the center rationale for governance; where security and the welfare of the people would be the primary goal of government. Where the sons and daughters of nobody would become somebody without knowing anybody.

THOSE WHO CONSPIRED TO END OTHERS' LIFE ARE NOT THEMSELVES IMMORTAL.
IN EFFECT. THE DOOM'S DAY IS NEAREST THAN BEFORE!
Every actor of wickedness has a date with death.

MARATHON DEVELOPMENT IN JOS: THE QUICK FIX OR QUIT NOTICE?

It was Abraham Lincoln who said that:
"You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time"(1861).

Lincoln's view was further paraphrased and reiterated by the legendary reggae maestro, Bob Marley in 1973 when he cautioned the people to "get up and stand up for their rights".

Barely had these words faded that the Rt Hon Simon Bako Lalong led administration abandoned the main township roads in Jos for over 7 years; only to be reawakened by the ghastly visit of Bola Ahmed Tinibu- the APC presidential candidate- to Plateau state. The government had hitherto completed the Mararaban Jama'a-Heipang road and introduced "operation zero potholes in the Jos metropolis. But even before the regime concluded it's tenure, this road amongst many other untouched roads developed serious bucket holes and were left in bad shape largely, as a result of poor finishing and complete neglect by the government.
A quick fix was initiated to cover these "pots of shame" by the government with focus on the Yakubu Gowon Airport round about enrout Taen-Total round about, Sabon barki junction, building material express road, nasco pack express road, DB Zang road, Hill station junction, Police headquarters road, Polo round about, Jankwano- Zaria by-pass, Tafawa Balewa road, and terminating at the Rwang Pam township stadium( Venue of the free for all fighting event).

In addition to the foregoing, the grimy dirts and disease that Plateau people have endured during the life of this administration were cleared along the aforementioned routes. These were just done to impress the November visitors.

One would then wonder why a government will brazenly choose to impress a visitor whose prospect of becoming the president of Nigeria by 2023, is in the hands of God and the people who knew the hypocrisy of his marketers.
What could the Hon Lalong government be thinking when citizens died as a result of crashes along the Polo round about, or the many vehicular hardships faced by motorists due to potholes, or the abandoned stadium for the Plateau United?

Indeed, the quick fix was simply a disrespectful act of "Oho Dai" or loosely translated: "the people don't matter" ANYMORE.

A lot of us wondered how they did it in a span of just few days and could not dare to do it the last seven years of rulership. How they deprived the people who EMPOWERED them to political leadership positions of the dividends of democracy, is still a mystery.

How they still go before religious and traditional leaders cm the people to inadvertently make promises and seek for another chance is even more worrisome.

The signs of the end are definitely clear. Like in the days of Daniel, the handwriting on the wall was as crystal as glass to the king (Daniel 5:25-29). He who the gods want to destroy shall first make mad. Or else,
1. What is not madness if a candidate of a party APC prayed for PD.......at a rally?

2. What is a dead fish not tasting sweet in a pot of soup?

3. What is a fight in a stadium and not a ring?

4. What is a work free day amidst hunger and poverty?

5. What is a quick fix and not a sustained project commissioning?

The long and short of it is that Godliness has since departed from governance and this has resulted to uncontrollable tears in the eyes of the People..

The so-called Special Guests who arrived in not less than 5 private jets have since departed to their advancing states. The zule zoo, Terry G, kosoko, Rararara, Zack Oji fun fair is over. The decrepit left over facilities including littered posters and bill boards are all over the place for our mothers to sweep.

But one thing is certain, the quit notice for under performance and quick fix is here to stay. Another certainty that is that Plateau needs RECLAIMING. Let's do this together...... Let us bring back Godliness into Governance.

THE PAIN OF GANAWURI-MANCHOK ROAD.

If you do not have any idea about yet another painful journey, try the Ganawuri-Manchok road.

Travelling along the Ganawuri-Manchok road is one of the most painful experiences I had in the last few days. It was like other tasteless experiences I have had with the Gindiri-Lere- Bauchi road, Quanpan-Asakio-Nasarawa state road, Jengre-Saminaka road and so on. If you slow down to meander, you are at the risk of the "gentlemen of the highway". If you speed through the road, there is always a slowing hiccup.

And I sat back in the car through the mud of Ganawuri-Manchok road wondering why the local government, state government and the federal government officials turned deaf ears to this road.

Ganawuri is a very unique town in Plateau with rare and special crop species like Ganawuri nchwen or accha, Ganawuri nkpana (tamba), mampa, garaza, nchwele, and paddy rice which are without doubt a brand in themselves in the markets.

The Aten people of Ganawuri are also exceptional. I thought about the sonorous Nigerian music icon, Mr. Adu Deme( I used his song "Yarinya" back in the days to woo Saraya).

I thought of Gabriel Gala who at a very tender age scored the only goal for the Canadian senior national team against Real Madrid in a friendly encounter.

Indeed, the primary responsibility of every government is the security and welfare of the people. As the government perform these responsibilities, may I solicit that the border towns in Plateau state including the Ganawuri road be given a speedy consideration.
