Onions Don't Cure Covid
We are a group of Canadian university students working to fight the spread COVID-19 misinformation through educational infographics and videos.
Why do I have to get the vaccine twice❓
💉Multiple doses of the vaccine help train your immune system to remember how to respond to the virus. The second dose of the Pfizer vaccine is supposed be taken 21 days after the first dose. The second dose of the Moderna vaccine is supposed to be taken 28 days after the first dose. Remember, the vaccine will not protect you until 1-2 weeks after the second dose!
🎉We’re kicking off our vaccination education campaign with a simple question: How do the COVID-19 vaccines work?
The COVID-19 virus (called SARS-CoV-2) has a specific type of protein called the Spike Protein that allows the virus to get into your cells. The Spike Proteins form the crown (or corona) around the virus. The Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are mRNA vaccines. They give your cells a code (called RNA) that your cells can read to produce a safe version of the Spike protein that teaches your body to recognize and respond to the COVID-19 virus.

You've heard about the project, now it's time to meet the team!
Onion-haseyo! We're a group of university students creating resources aimed at fighting COVID-19 misinformation!
Over the course of the pandemic, we've received our fair share of misinformation, especially on our family group chats. We hope that our infographics and videos can start discussions within our families and communities about misinformation.
As youth from immigrant communities, we realize that a lot of public health information can be inaccessible, so we are translating our videos and infographics into as many languages as possible! If you can speak and write in another language, we need your help!
