You’ve heard of Dick Whittington, of rags to riches fame, but his success was not his own to claim. This is Cat’s story - a tale for our century - asking if those who have nothing, can someday something be. Premiering in 2021 at SparkFest, Gabrielle Finnegan brought the classic folk tale in to the 21st Century through fanciful realism with a political edge. Cat and Her Whittington explores the issues facing working class people today and tells the story of what it is like to be failed by the system we live in.
