Even though all the joints are brand new (it's important as the allen key fittings are nice and smooth), we spend time finishing them so they look used. This takes a long time but we think it's worth it.

This base design is great. It's really solid, it looks great, it's easy to slide around without scratching (we put invisible pads underneath) and it gives you a comfortable footrest in the middle.
