If an organisation or promoter says you need to pay a small admin fee to apply to play. Bin it.
If an organisation or promoter says you need to buy a set number of tickets to sell on to your fans and friends. Bin it.
If you are ever asked to pay any money in order to apply or play somewhere. BIN IT.
This pay to play model is extremely outdated and should have never existed in the first place. Especially when the organisers are “supporting independent artists”. It doesn’t matter how many add on perks for you they say they’ll do, they are not interested in supporting you they’re interested purely in generating cash from you. DO NOT PAY TO PLAY. You’re better than that.

Another absolutely brilliant today. I really cannot stress enough how awesome these events are, I always try my absolute best to attend these and I’m awaited if I do miss one.
should be very proud of what they are achieving with this event and seeing how much it has grown, huge congratulations to Sally and Steve for this.

Couldn’t say it any better, don’t get caught up in the numbers game, having people connect with your music and listen to it or come see you live is far more important than a bunch of numbers (or in fact awards) in my opinion
So the music business seems to be a numbers game these days. How many likes, shares, follows, tickets sold, streams etc. What about the most important part? The MUSIC! And how it connects us and makes us all feel. That’s what really matters 🫠
As an independent band we have worked bloody hard these last few years, like so many amazing artists we know, and times like this can be difficult as you judge how well you’ve worked that year by looking at a bunch a numbers. Madness! SO we just want to spread the love this year for every single person who has gone to a gig, bought merch, bought the music, listened and interacted on socials to not only MW but any artist out there in the same boat. This industry is tough but god damn it we love it so frickin much! ❤️
We are so humbled and thankful for all the Morganwayer support this year - it has been one of the craziest so far (but that’s another post)! We love playing live and we know that’s where we fit best in this music biz - but we are very thankful for everyone who has also listened online and given us some sexy streams too. We love ya ❤️

Huge congratulations to all the finalists in these awards, but please remember whether you win or lose, whether you make the final 5 or not, the important thing is that you’re doing something you love and reaching people with your music. If only one person connects with one of your songs you should be proud of what you have achieved.

So, first item on the agenda after my absence (sorry folks) is to announce the winner of the Emilia Quinn Music tour mileage competition for all of these goodies plus a t-shirt from me, a t-shirt from British Country Music Show and a baseball cap from DC Brown - Live UK Country Videographer
Our total mileage was (drumroll) 1118 miles, so by my calculations that means our winner with guess of 1127 is (another drumroll) Andrea Isaac 🤷 congratulations Andrea with an excellent guess at only 9 miles out 😮
Coming in a close second with a guess of 1035 was Liz Cannon, and in third place with a guess of 1099 was PJ Jones very close ladies, well done 👏

Emilia Quinn Music - Wanderlust & Breaking Rules (Album)

If you’ve been following my page for a while, you’ll know how much I rate Emilia Quinn, you’ll also most likely be aware that I am currently in the middle of following Emilia’s debut headline tour with some other independent promoters/supporters and very good friends.
Making waves in the music industry, Emilia Quinn's latest single 'Mr Shame' achieved a Top 10 iTunes Country chart position upon release earlier this month.
Her upcoming debut album 'Wanderlust & Breaking Rules' is set for release tomorrow , she is definitely an artist to watch and has cemented her place as a rising star in the UK Country and Americana scene.
Myself and many others have been waiting for this day for some time. Not knowing when it would come, only that it WOULD come. If there’s one thing I’ve learned about Emilia, it’s that not only is she an amazing artist, but she is also a grafter. There was never any doubt that an album (and probably many more to come) was on the cards at some point. Emilia has a huge collection of brilliant songs, but she also knows the advantage of timing and not rushing things.
Talking about the release of her debut album and getting to play it live on tour this month, Emilia said
“I'm so looking forward to this body of work being shared with my listeners. My hope for these songs is they bring comfort and connection to those who listen, whether it's a feeling of belonging or find their fierceness. These songs were created with love and care from everyone involved and I feel privileged to have worked with such a wonderful team. Playing them all live each night in tour is going to be such a treat and I look forward to making some beautiful memories with everyone."
What can I say about the album? The first 4 tracks are the releases from the album and as such I’m sure you’re familiar with them. The remaining tracks may well have been performed here and there at an occasional gig to ‘test the waters’ (one of Emilia’s favourite ways of judging her music) but here you get to hear them in all their glory.
As expected from Emilia (a self confessed perfectionist) production is superb. All recorded the ‘old school way’ on the fly live in a studio with all band members present, you really can feel the difference from remote recording. You can feel the energy and excitement, and her band of exceptional musicians have well and truly delivered.
Emilia is well known for her versatility, and the album demonstrates this so well. Want something more chilled and full of emotion? Yes, then go check out ‘Mountains’ Want something to rock out to? Yes, then listen to ‘Nothing To Lose’ Want something a little more bluesy? Then whack ‘On The Run’ on loud.
The final track ‘Backroads’ is Emilia’s Bohemian Rhapsody at over 5 mins long it just doesn’t feel like it, it drags you in and you’re immersed. Having heard this live before the album release I was adamant that this would be my favourite track on the album. While it really is a truly stunning track, for me to say it’s my favourite would be a disservice to the rest of the album. I honestly couldn’t pick a favourite and each track has its own story and its own feel. ‘In My Boots’ and ‘Rosary Beads’ are both also amazing tracks that resonate with me particularly, but to be honest I could have and will have the entire album on repeat.
This, I feel, is just the beginning for this young lady, and I cannot wait to see what happens next!

All you have to do is guess the total mileage we’ll cover in our rented motorhome for the tour. From pick up on Tuesday until return on the following Monday.
We will photograph the start and end mileage and closest guess wins.

No spoilers yet, but tonight will be one to remember, simple!
In a few years time this young lady will be selling out arenas and more, the opportunities to see Emilia Quinn Music in more intimate venues will fade and so to watch her tonight on the first night of her first headline tour was truly something special.
If you couldn’t make it to London tonight for this gig you really did miss out. Luckily there are still 4 more opportunities to catch Emilia on her headline tour and I urge you to grab a ticket quick.
I personally will treasure this evening, especially in coming years when I’m standing at the back of a much larger venue. I’ll be able to look back and say ‘I was there at Emilia’s first headline tour and she was amazing’
A good hour and a half of awesome music from this superstar not including the encore, it’s been amazing to watch Emilia grow over the last few years and I couldn’t be more chuffed for her.
