My first ever Attempt at a landscape in oils

This is without The tutorial just copying the photo. At first I felt like i didn’t know what I was doing and it felt very uncomfortable however I stuck at it and it came out quite well next painting is for tutorial painting of this one be very interested to see if there is any improvement

I decided to take on a oil painting course by for amazing paint coach on YouTube

I want to learn the basics of oil painting and how to draw with paint, at the moment it’s going really well it’s taken me quite a while to get used to oils because I’m coming from acrylics so everything is quite unusual for me.

I’ve done two paintings One with tutorial (1) and the other one is without tutorial (2)

I see a improvement, im really happy with the outcome, really enjoying oils so far it’s better than acrylic in my opinion and I am very excited for the next painting in the course

Little bit of an update on the sky painting. it’s nearly time to take it to the next level

A bit more practice with acrylics, it was very frustrating to do as acrylics don’t blend well but I’m really happy with the results this is just the start and I will be I adding clouds and the sea and then to make it pop I’m going to put oils on top
