Getting into equine photography has been one of the most fun photography experiences I've had in a while!

Thanks to Gina over at Dream Chasers Riding, LLC. for allowing me the opportunity to venture into this new genre! She teaches horse and pony riding lessons to all ages and is wonderful to work with. If you're looking for something new to try, take a look! There's even options for hand held pony rides for children. ๐Ÿ™‚

For I went out and photographed with a theme. The historical structures are a great pairing for this style of photography and has me eager to explore the city some more.

If you have any photos of the blue water area that you adore, I would love to see them posted bellow! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Some experimental photos from the car show at Ocean Breeze in Marysville, Michigan, July 22nd.

These were using a vintage Helios 40-2-C lens and some attempts at more aggressive editing. Some are good, some are not so good.

Stopped by Big Boy in Ft. Gratiot for Mike Shafers weekly Cruise In Events! Every Monday - Thursday he hosts one at different restaurants. Schedule can be found posted in the group Blue Water area classic cars/cruisers.

Needed to not get bogged down by these photos so these are all right out of my camera using vintage glass. Which on that note, here is the list of projects I am working on completing. Regretfully Some have been on the back burner for a bit now but I would rather be out getting the photos while these events are happening rather than miss out completely. But I will be making it a priority to catch up on these.

Port Huron Motorcycle Club Dirt Drags from June 11th
Blue Water Cruise Weekend cruise from June 24th
Blue Water Festival and Mannequins Making a Difference by Salon PiZazz! July 15th
As well as posting the photos from the 20th anniversary River Classic Car Show in St. Clair

Keep an eye out for all of these collections! Once they go live I will also be linking a SmugMug album for high quality viewing and print ordering!

This photoshoot turned out fantastic and can't wait to refine this shooting style.

If you are interested in having your car photographed in a special way, or think it's time to have some wall art made of it, get in touch!

Special thanks to Kel Lad and Angie Lademer for allowing me to use their beautiful Chevelle as a subject.

Infrared photoshoot with Jamie D'Luge California Special Mustang. The impending thunderstorm made for some interesting cloud coverage that helped make the scene.

Full photo set with Kirk Gillies Berlinetta Camaro from yesterday. Good test of applying fog into photos. Next step will likely be adding light sources.

Photos from Kurtis Burkett Photography's post 11/05/2022

Had a great opportunity to test out some equipment with Andrew VanConants Camaro. While the wind prevented me from using my own fog, I still managed to check how a CCTV lens could add to a false color look. I'm pretty pleased with the results so far.

The standard looking photos are from my main camera set using a cinematic profile that applies the look directly to the images, meaning no editing time.

All in all, a very good return of quality images with minimal time invested.

Went to the first car show hosted by Nolan's Irish Pub and Leaning Tree Golf Club. Was a pretty good turnout with DJ Mike Shafer providing the music and the sun finally shining here in Michigan.

Looking forward to the next one!

Another good event hosted by Tires And Treads Community Project at the YMCA of the Blue Water Area for Healthy Kids Day. Blain Brothers Racing brought out their Firebird while members from the community also brought out their cars.

Photos from Kurtis Burkett Photography's post 28/04/2022

Tires And Treads Community Project hosted a great event yesterday at Keewahdin Elementary for children to come and check out all kinds of vehicles. The theme was "Build The Community" which resulted in a good variety of utility and public service trucks. Weather was a bit chilly but a good time regardless.

Tires and Treads will be out again at the YMCA on Saturday, 10am with Blains Brothers Racing to hand out Hot Wheels and have more cars on display.

As for the photos, I made a bit of a mistake on the technical side of things which forced me to rely on a side project I was doing, which is film emulation. While I still needed to do some more testing and tweaking on the settings, I'm happy with how most of these turned out considering there isn't much room for post processing.

Let me know if you like the look of these photos.

The Carnegie Museum has opened today a new exhibit titled "Perspectives: Art out of the Pandemic" which features me and many other local artists proudly displaying our work.

These three photos are what I personally have on display and for sale.

Seeing all of the art myself, I can say it is an exhibit well worth seeing while it is on display and that the staff at Carnegie Museum did a wonderful job putting it together.

On Saturday February 19th, the Blue Water Jeep Owners Club held their third annual Polar Bear Jeep Run. The goal of the event is to raise funds to prevent child abuse and aid the club in adopting children for Christmas.

During the event, owners of the Jeeps were to remove the top off their vehicle as they make short trips around the area in search of decorations for flat "polarmen". Five teams were made for the event, each given a polar man to decorate. Team five won the event by being voted the best decorated polar man.

In addition to the event, there was a puppy kissing booth, face painting, and a live band; Paul & Oats. All inside a large warming tent next to The Fieldhouse Sports Bar & Kitchen in Marysville, Michigan.
