So I was given the opportunity to make a lovely lady a dress!! 👗 I needed to combine 4 types of dress styles because she was looking for a certain style and fit. Which means I had to make my own pattern. My first time making a pattern from complete scratch.

Believe it or not but this test dress was made out of a queen fitted sheet from Goodwill that cost me $2.50.

I will be doing custom sizing and tweaking to make it her own soon. Then I will disassemble this dress and use it for the pattern for the fabric she picked out. I can’t wait to start the actual dress with the colors she picked out, they are gorgeous!!

PS- it has 2 large pockets and I will be adding a front slit!

Getting my feet wet again! I used to doodle these type of things a bunch in high school and figured I’d try with paint and marker to get in the groove.

STUDY OF GEOMETRY crochet along hosted by The Crochet Crowd week 1 finished!! I started week 1 in July; the Orange part and finished the rest of week 1 tonight the green and purple. This is a 5 week crochet along but life happened.
Perfect Friday night though!! Spent time with the hubby while getting caught up on watching wrestling all while crocheting! 😃

Hey friends and family! Do you know of any local places that rent out scaffolding or lifts that you’d recommend?? I’m also, not opposed to purchasing scaffolding if you have suggestions for this as well.
I also have about a year of experience working on a cherry picker that reached 35ft high.

I’m getting a budget together to submit for the mural proposal in North East, MD. I may need some references as well if you’d be interested in doing that, please let me know!!

I’m really kicking myself for not documenting the mural I helped with at the perryville high school weight room back in the day; also not having documentation of the bedroom murals I have completed previously too for friends. Anywho, any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you!

I have a sketchbook that I completed in art school, the project was to fill the sketchbook. It took a life of its own and I remember really enjoying adding to it every day. Self portraits, photo collages, at the time my favorite local band mewithoutyou lyrics with their autographs, charcoal, colored pencils, pastels, markers, tape, dried flowers, and much more!

I didn’t realize that this type of sketching/journaling had a name for it!! Plus I don’t know why but it never occurred to me to mix my “fill my sketchbook” with my book making skills till now!! But I’m totally excited that I made the connection!

I have a red and green book that I made a decade or so ago when I went through some really hard stuff. Through the years I have torn out the past signatures (grouping of paper in a book) because it needed to be gone but I kept the book because it was something I enjoyed making and I hoped to write it again. I have been thinking about disassembling the book and repurposing it to create something new!! I think this will be my new “fill my sketchbook” plus book making project! A 2’fer!!!

I like the term junk journal but junk seems to have a negative ring to it for me. Jam journal? Developed diary? Repurposed recycled journal? I’m not sure what to rename it to but I’m really excited about the idea!! I keep thinking about how healing it is to take something that was a part of something that was painful and traumatic then transforming it into something that brings joy, peace, fulfillment, and passion.

Anywho, I hope my little story inspires you as much as it has for me this morning! 💖

PS- my fellow writers: I think this can be applied to words as well! Just write down ALL the things! It doesn’t have to be in order, neat, same pen/pencil/marker, etc! Just write whatever comes to mind! Sideways, backwards, upside down, different writing tools, and glue your post it’s and little scrap papers with your ideas on them to the pages!!
