Hi and welcome to LittleMindsbyEmily! A project born from a chaotic time which was the global pandemic, with business closures, homeschooling, many losses, and also many gains (if you're like me and always seek for a silver lining!)
This is a real passion project which I've enjoyed every minute of, and really hope that I can continue this for as long as life allows me to. Bringing together two things that I love, Math! and Art! During homeschooling with my kids I would do little doodles to explain bonds or grouping numbers, or an animal to help secure a phonics sound. This slowly developed into full illustrations that we stuck on our playroom walls.
Seeing my children enjoying these illustrations that I created and interacting with them independently, brought me so much joy and a huge feeling of relief from a struggle that had beautiful moments too.
Finally I decided to share some of these designs, with other parents and children who might find them as useful as we did. Because learning can always be a family discussion and a fun one too.
My technique is a little different to most educational posters as I really lean into the arts and the natural world around us. I like to explore math as it exists in the natural world but I have also created the odd diagram too.
I've so far created a handful of posters catered mostly for toddlers and preschoolers, but I can't wait to keep going and creating and exploring more complex concepts!
