Today Warri Chapter continued the Event to honor Engr.Nnoli Akpedeye FNSE,FNICE past President and Engr. Ozomena Nwokeabia MNSE,MNICE held “Invent it build it” at Egbo Primary School, Egbo Uhurie Presidented by the President Engr. Elizabeth Jumoke Eterigho FNSE FNSchE. Schools present at the event were Egbo Primary School, Aragba Primary School Aragba, Majovo Primary School Ekekprame, Ugbavweni Primary School Usiefrun. At the end of the event Ugbavweni Primary School came first, Aragba second and Egbo Third. Gifts were presented to the winning schools.
The President used the opportunity to encourage the Pupils and teachers to aim and encourage creativity and using different items to solve problems. The students used straw to produce various structures such as Bridges, Water tanks, Towers etc. The Chairman of Ughelli south Local Government Hon.Dr. Koffi Richard JP, represented by his vice appreciated the chapter for their efforts to ensure that the interest of girls are directed to problems solving using creative methods,engineering and thinking out of the box.

APWEN WARRI CHAPTER invites all to the inaugural Public lecture in honor of Engr. Nnoli Akpedeye FNSE Past President of APWEN and Engr Ozomena Nwokeabia pioneer Chairman of APWEN warri Chapter.

The lined up of programs to celebrate these icons started up in July 12th with a Quiz competition between Several Government Secondary and Primary Schools.

It will continue on the 2nd and 3rd of August, with various programs as below:

2nd August; Inventor, build it and the Inauguration of renovated Primary School classroom block and Head masters office at Egbo Primary School.

3rd of August will be a Public lecture tagged STEM EDUCATION A CATALYST TO SOCIETAL DEVELOPMENT. At PTI CONFERENCE CENTER.

Science quiz competition organized in honor of Engr. Nnoli Akpedeye FNSE Past President of APWEN and Engr. Ozomena Nwokeabia the Pioneer Chairman of APWEN warri Chapter was held on 12th of July, 2023. The quiz was held at NSE Warri branch Secretariat for students of final year Senior Secondary Schools (SS2), Junior Secondary Schools (JSS2) and Primary 5. The secondary schools present are Dom Domingos College, Ekpan Secondary School, Egbo Secondary School, Ogbe Secondary School, Ekete Secondary School, Uwangue Secondary School.
Primary Schools that attend are Ekete Primary School, Olodi Primary School and Egbo Primary School.

In the Senior Secondary category Egbo secondary school came out First with 22points, Ekete Secondary School second with 17points.

In the junior category, Ekpan Secondary School won with 22 points and Ekete came out second position with 19points, Dom Domingos College came 3rd with 16points.

In the Primary School category; Olodi Primary School won with 34 points, Ekete Primary School came second with 29 points and Egbo Primary School came 3rd with 27points.

The winners of all category will get a gift of their Final exams fees Paid.

The Moderator and Judges for the secondary School category are Engr. Rosemary Imhawha Past Chairman, Engr. Linda Ebipade Present Chairman of the chapter, Engr. Princess Enam Obhiemi Vice Chairman, Engr. Caroline Oboba past Chairman APWEN warri Chapter, Engr. Christy Ejabena past Chairman APWEN warri Chapter

Moderators for the Primary School are Engr. Eremona FNSE, Engr. Chigbo Queen Uche Publicity Secretary , Engr. Temilade, Miss Joy Obor. Miss Joy Egwuenu FUPRE Collegiate Chapter Chairman.

The program ended with the teachers of the winning Schools, beaming with Pride and they gave out words of appreciation to APWEN Warri Chapter led by Engr. Linda Ebipade.

We are Passionate in encouraging the young ones to go into STEM courses, hence we are organizing Quiz competition between 10 secondary Schools (SS2 and JSS2) and 10 Primary Schools (Pry 5). The Quiz is in Honor of two Great Engineers from warri Chapter, Engr. Nnoli Akpedeye FNSE, and Engr. Ozo Nwokeabia.

The winners from the three categories will be given gift of Enrollment into the national exams of both category.

Past National President, Engr. Nnoli Akpedeye FNSE, and other Past Chapter chairmen, and members joining the meeting via zoom. The highlight of the meeting was the technical Paper Presentation titled "Mentorship and Sponsorship: Exploring the Unique Benefits of each for career growth" the paper was presented via zoom by Engr. Yetunde Marian Aladeitan, PhD, FNSE, FNSChE.
The meeting ended with Certificates given to Engr. Chigbo Queen Uche
Publicity secretary and Miss Joy Uche, Chairman of FUPRE Collegiate for various service to the growth of the Chapter.

Collaborating with PHEW Foundation we Joined the rest of the world to mark the international day of the girl Child at Itirigbe Secondary School, Itirigbe. The Students were encouraged to improve themselves by studying without distraction for a better future. They were encouraged to Shun drugs and Prostitution. Study in STEM courses will make them Changemakers. At the end of the day, all participants were given Sanitary Pads as gifts and one Student was awarded Scholarship to encourage the other students to Aspire to get high grades.

WASH, Access to Clean safe water, hygiene, sanitation is every Children right, before and at this era of COVID 19. Clean water and hygiene goes a long way to ensure that Children are healthy and are able to Spend more time in Class, based on the importance of safe water, APWEN warri Chapter under the able leadership of Engr. Bridget Zini built a safe Clean water producing bore-,hole with hand washing station at Dom Domingo's College, Edjeba off Airport road warri. The Hand washing Station was commissioned by Engr. Nicholas Otoboh MNSE, MNIEE. The Mother of the day was Mrs. Ebiakpo Obanyedo, National President of Ijaw Female Graduate Association in Nigeria. The Principal Okpakpr O F ( Mrs) represented by Mrs. Acquare Claris, the Vice Principal and Students of the School was excited and Praised the Female Engineers for their kind gesture while calling on Other Associations to Emulate this Good work because the Government cannot do everything.

Thereafter the Engr. Bridget Zini led Executive was inaugurated as new incoming Exco of the Association. The ceremony was Chaired by the President of APWEN, Engr. Dr. Elizabeth Jumoke Etarigho FNSE, FNSCHE.

The outgoing Chairman of the Association Engr. Caroline Oboba and the host Engr. Godwin O. Enibueta (Chairman Nigerian Society of Engineers) represented by Engr. Isaac Aikoroje MNSE,MNIEEE,MNISafetyE, Warri Chapter applauded the Great Start up by the new Exco and encouraged them to carry up the good work.

The investiture ceremony also featured a Public lecture on The role of Women in Achieving Sustainable development goals presented by Dr.Ngozi Grace Emordi Ph.D Head of department Welding and fabrication Delta State polytechnic , Ogwashiukwu.
