⭐️ It would be a huge mistake to clump Cornwall together with other counties as part of a devolution deal, because that really would not be effective devolution for this wonderful place. Cornwall is special in so many ways and it would be a real shame for Cornwall's unique identity to be eroded away ⭐️

My personal experience so far as I walk to work in Penzance...

❗️people lying in the middle of the street asleep after drinking too much

❗️groups of intimidating, intoxicated people making me feel worried for my safety

❗️an abundance of litter strewn about the town, particularly take away rubbish

❗️someone being sick outside my business

❗️graffiti sprayed on my business wall.

➡️ I often wonder what other people's experiences are.

⭐️ We really need to stand together as a community and call for an end to this sort of behaviour.

⭐️ Penzance deserves better! ⭐️

Good morning.

A public yellow heat alert has been issued from Monday the 24th of June until Thursday the 27th of June. Temperatures are expected to spike next week which are likely to bring minor impacts for health and social care. Please keep an eye on the elderly, young children and anyone who may suffer from extreme heat, and other medical issues. Also please be aware of VH pollen levels, HIGH UV along with a wildfire risk.

During this time it's important to stay hydrated and try not to get too hot especially whilst excersing, as there is a higher risk of dehydration and heat exhaustion. It would be wise to exercise during the cooler parts of the day.

🦺This week we’ll be carrying out the final closures of the A30 as we prepare to open the road to traffic next week.

🚧The A30 between Chiverton and Summercourt will be closed:
🔸overnight until Thursday 20 June, between 8pm and 6am each night
🔸from 8pm on Friday 21 June until 6am on Monday 24 June.

🚗Local access north and south at Chiverton and via the B3284 at Chybucca will be maintained throughout, as will the link from the A39 to the north via the B3285.

🚘A clearly signed diversion route will be in place so you’ll still be able to get to where you need to go, but we recommend you plan ahead and allow extra time for journeys.

On this day 80 years ago, more than 5,000 ships and landing craft delivered 150,000 troops to five beaches in Normandy. 4,440 Allied soldiers lost their lives on D-Day - the first day of Operation Overlord, which ultimately brought about the liberation of German-occupied Western Europe.
