I just have to come on here and say how happy I am with this piece.
That takes a lot for an artist to say sometimes. We are our own worst critics and we are always noticing the faults and areas of our work we can grow in. Even when we have a really good session, with an amazing client, and execute a killer tattoo, it’s still hard to give ourselves a pat on the back.
But today I’m doing just that.
Many of you may not know but my apprenticeship was very lax, to the point where I was thrust into the game and had to fend for myself a lot. I did a lot of YouTube, a lot of self teaching and experimenting, a LOT of art. And after nearly 5 years of tattooing I still have crazy imposter syndrome at times.
There is so much that goes into being an independent artist. It is a lone wolf situation where I am doing ALL of my booking, ALL of my correspondence, ALL of my marketing, ALL the designing, and ALL of the tattooing, etc. Plus being a mom and managing a household/ balancing my own mental and physical well-being/ making art just for my own soul.
So I guess I am just doing some self affirming, while also letting y’all know I am so very appreciative to all my clients and followers for bearing with me and being patient. I truly am so blessed by each of you bringing me your ideas and helping manifest them through me✨🫶🏼
