Samaritan's Purse Helping Desperate Afghans
Dear Friend,
The world has been shocked in recent days by the ongoing images of chaos at Kabul's airport as tens of thousands of desperate people, including American citizens, try to escape the Taliban. These Islamic extremists are poised to force Afghanistan back into a dark and brutal state where Christians, anyone who associated with Americans, women, and others face severe persecution and death. Some of our brothers and sisters in Christ are running from place to place, trying to stay safe.
Samaritan's Purse has been partnering with organizations on the ground to get men, women, and children out of this horrific situation. We have been able to sponsor flights that have brought hundreds to safety—one of our partners made three trips that brought out 700 people in one day! We have also supported the evacuation of 80 missionary families via land routes.
Would You Like to Help?
We also have a Disaster Assistance Response Team in the region to determine how and where we can best help those who have fled with only the clothes on their backs. We know hygiene items will be urgently needed, and traumatized children will need comfort items and compassionate care.
Only God's mighty hand can save those trapped in this crisis. Will you join in prayer for the people of Afghanistan? Please pray with me that rescue operations will continue and that more people will escape to safety. Pray for U.S. leaders to have wisdom and a great sense of urgency. Finally, pray that God will continue to lead Samaritan's Purse as we seek to help those fleeing Afghanistan.

Clothing Drive for Survivors of Sexual Violence
Often, survivors of sexual violence hand over their clothing when they are going through the Evidence Collection Kit process at our local partner Emergency Rooms. Northwest CASA provides clothing items so that survivors can feel comfortable as they leave the hospital. All donated items need to be new and have minimal or no graphics.
Clothing Items Needed:
Sweatshirts (Men's sizes preferred)
Sweatpants (Men's sizes preferred)
T-shirts (Men's sizes preferred)
Women's Underwear

Church Project located at 602 Pruitt Rd, 77380 is open as a warming center available for anyone seeking refuge from power outages.
They have been adequately resourced by MOCO Office of Emergency Management, MOCO Food Bank and the American Red Cross so do not need donations at this time.
