To Our Dear Patients and their Families:

In response to directives set forth by Governor Jay Inslee, we will be closing our office until May 18, 2020. In doing this it is hoped that more Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) can be made available to hospitals and other medical providers who are on the front lines fighting this pandemic. We are canceling all appointments between now and May 18th. We have been directed to not see any patients where we would need to utilize PPE (gloves, masks, etc.). We are able to address emergency patients on a case by case basis. We will be having very limited staff in the office and will be working diligently to answer all phone and email messages left.

We hope that each and every one of you are doing well and are healthy. Please know that we are looking forward to seeing you again in May!

Be Kind and Be Safe
We send you all more cyber hugs!!!

To Our Dear Patients and their Families:

Here at Harbor Kids Teeth, we are very concerned about the health and welfare of our patients, their families and our Team. In light of the ongoing pandemic, we will be implementing some changes to the schedule and the normal way we accommodate patients and their families in our office.

The safety and health of our team, patients and families are our #1 priority.

Due to of all that is going on in our community, we want to let you know what we are doing during this time to protect everyone in and around our practice.

We are kindly asking our patients to assist us in reducing risk of corona virus exposure. We are working quickly to maximize our responses for the safety and well being of our patients, your families, and our team. We are following ever-evolving recommendations from OSHA, along with those from the CDC, the World Health Authority, American Dental Association, and American Academy of Pediatric Dentists.

GIVEN THAT OUR AREA HAS BEEN PARTICULARLY HARD HIT, WE ARE LIMITING OUR PRACTICE TO EMERGENCY PATIENTS ONLY FOR AT LEAST THE NEXT 14 DAYS. If you do need to come to our office for an appointment please respect the following: 1. Do not bring siblings, friends, or relatives to appointments and only one parent please. 2. Please call us to schedule or reschedule: we want to minimize the amount of people who enter our office. 3. If you, or anyone in your home has a cough, fever, runny nose or even mild flu like symptoms or if you have had exposure to someone who has traveled to a high risk area outside the United States, please call and we will reschedule your appointment. 4. To reduce exposure we will have you wait in your car until ready to be seen (please call us to inform us that you are in the parking lot waiting).

Please call us if you have concerns about anything and we will try to accommodate any need you have. We realize how difficult this is for our entire world and believe in the resilience of us all.

Be Kind and Be Safe
We send you all cyber hugs!!

Hormonal changes during pregnancy can increase your risk for gum disease. It is very important to take good care of your body during pregnancy and get regular prenatal care. Prenatal care includes dental care. Making sure you have a healthy mouth during pregnancy is one of the most important things you can do!
SO HOW DO I KEEP MY MOUTH HEALTHY DURING PREGNANCY?
• Be sure to eat healthy foods and avoid refined sugar which can cause tooth decay and gum disease.
• Eat foods that have the vitamins and minerals you need to keep your mouth healthy like Vitamin C and calcium.
• Floss and brush your teeth regularly, at least twice a day.
• When you brush, brush your tongue too! This will reduce bacteria and keep your breath fresh.
• See a dental professional for a checkup and if you have swollen or bleeding gums.

Special Needs Calls for Special Dentists! It has been demonstrated that dental care is the greatest unmet health care need of children with special health care needs. Dr. Block and Dr. Anderson recognize that finding a skilled pediatric dentist for a child with special health care needs can often be challenging. At Harbor Kids’ Teeth, Dr. Block, Dr. Anderson and our staff have extensive experience treating children with special health care needs. We pride ourselves on building relationships focused on sensitivity, trust and friendship, and recognize this often means additional time is needed for dental visits.

Do you know why it's so important to keep baby teeth healthy? These first little chompers are very important to your child’s health and development. They help chew, speak and smile. They also hold space in the jaws for permanent teeth that are growing under the gums. When a baby tooth is lost too early, the permanent teeth can drift into the empty space and make it difficult for other adult teeth to find room when they come in. This can make teeth crooked or crowded. That’s why starting infants off with good oral care can help protect their teeth for a lifetime.
