Parade of colors

Vibrance and iridescence filled the streets of Banna with a majestic parade of culture, talent, and craft. Despite the scorching sun, smiles beam in the colorful portrayal of Panag-abuos. The much-anticipated Street Pageantry- the artistic depiction of the symbolic life of Abuos.

Reliving the roots. Reviving identity.

With our growing dependence on smartphones and technology, we somehow forget the fun there is in the local entertainment of our childhood memories. Our Town Fiesta wouldn’t be completed without rekindling the chill and thrill of the friendly and spirited competition of the Laro ng Lahi.

Ridam, siglat ken saririt ni Abuos

Marked by the nimble moves and astute cleverness of the Abuos, the BFP/PNP tandem toppled the competing teams in the thrilling and daunting Amazing Race. The competition of agility, endurance, and quick-wittedness was participated by different government and non-government clusters of the municipality: the Local Government Unit (LGU), Sangguniang Kabataan (SK), Non-Government Organization (NGO), DepEd Secondary, DepEd Elementary, Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) and Philippine National Police (PNP), Barangay Officials, and the SOUL+ Community. The LGU and SK finished second and third respectively.

Undoubtedly, the Abuos is not keen for nothing.

Before the day breaks. Before the festivity kick-starts.

Jam-packed with eager and exhilarating attendees, the most awaited Abuos Festival kick-starts with health and fitness activities headed by the equally energetic Municipal Mayor, Mary Chrislyn Co-Abadilla, M.D. A teeming crowd paced the 3 km and 5 km Fun Run. No one is out of breath with the lively and invigorating Zumba dance to shake off the stiff and idle brought by pandemic.

The hiatus may have enslaved us with the comfort of smart phones, but the Bannatirans always find ways to revitalize and reenergize to survive in the new normal.

The challenging era of the pandemic has undeniably tested us with trials, hopelessness, and loss. Mirroring the humble yet persevering life of the Abuos, Bannatirans remain firm, resilient and steadfast. With its enduring strength and the vision to thrive, Banna is unwavering, prospering, flourishing.

In celebration of its triumphant accomplishments, The Abuos Festival is a showcase of Bannatiran’s victory, craftsman, talents, and oneness. The grand and flamboyant ALDAW TI ABUOS is a manifestation of the withstanding strength and adaptability of its people amidst crisis.
