Dear friends of Barclay:
In light of current conditions, we have made the difficult decision to suspend the reopening of Barclay Classes until the Fall of 2022.
Since the onset of the pandemic nearly two years ago, our primary concern has been the health and safety of our students and staff and their families. We had hoped to resume classes in the Fall of 2021, and when it became clear that this would be impossible, we shifted our focus to the second half of the current school year. However, with the highly contagious nature of the Omicron variant we feel that we cannot safely hold classes in the coming weeks, thereby making even a half-season of classes impossible.
We have missed you all very much and look forward to once again bringing the Barclay experience to your children. It is our hope that, by this Fall, we will be able to hold classes (with any minor adjustments as needed for safety) and once again see the children dancing together, enjoying conversation with one another, and making new friends.
We appreciate your continued interest and support of The Barclay Classes and wish you and your families the very best for 2022 and beyond. We will keep you informed of our plans for the future, and – with fingers crossed - we look forward to seeing you all again this Fall!

Barclay instructor Dennis Kelley had a wonderful time last week in a Zoom session with a group of Girl Scout Juniors from Sewickley, PA! Mr. Kelley was invited to discuss the importance of good social skills (including personal introductions, polite conversation, and dining etiquette) with the girls, who proved to be a very inquisitive and responsive group! We look forward to more remote sessions with children in communities where we've been unable to hold "in-person" classes due to the Coronavirus. Email the Barclay office for more information!

We're looking forward to seeing everyone today for our special TABLE MANNERS session! Classes will be held at the usual class times.
We had a wonderful time at the Opening Day of our Short Hills/Millburn classes, greeting many returning families as well as those for whom this season is their first Barclay experience! There's still time for YOUR child to join us - our next class is on October 29th. Simply print out and complete the registration forms (in the "photos" section here), and mail them to our office with your payment. Don't let your child miss out on this wonderful, enriching experience that's been a tradition in the community for generations!

The Barclay Classes
For generations, The Barclay Classes has helped our students grow into well-mannered young adults by helping them develop social skills, confidence and poise while having FUN! Our program stresses the importance and practice of good manners and presents instruction in ballroom dancing. Being confident and relaxed with dancing will prove to make all social events for your child fun and enjoyable.
