BT23

Northern Irish based record label supporting the sounds of local artists

BT23 (un)mixed - Robbie McCammon 06/09/2020

For this months instalment in the BT23 Mix series, is the Belfast based DJ, Robbie McCammon.

Carrying on in our monthly mixes, we challenged Robbie to play 23 of his favourite non dancefloor tracks, getting as weird as he could could, without the restriction of playing to a crowd.

As one of the finalists at this years AVA Emerging DJ Competition, Robbie caught our ears.
No different are his selections in this wide spanning (unmixed) mix.
His 23 tracks move between Ambient cinematic soundscapes, evolving low slung acid, hip hop beats and Glitched IDM before ending with a flat out 200bpm edit.

Featuring tracks from the likes of Paul Blackford, Sputnik One A/V and Aphex Twin to Sun Ra and Boards Of Canada - we hope you’ll enjoy this especially weird mix…

BT23 (un)mixed 23 - Sam Pyper 01/08/2020

Apologies for being a bit quiet round here recently, our 2nd label release will be landing shortly.
However in the meantime we've cooked up a new monthly mix series, with label head Sam Pyper stepping forward and providing the first instalment.

For the series we had the idea to challenge Friends of the label to play 23 of their favourite non dancefloor tracks, and songs they wouldn't generally get a chance to play, whilst getting as weird as they can, without the restriction of genre or a dancefloor.

In his wide spanning (unmixed) mix, Pyper's 23 tracks move between Ambient, Trip Hop, Afro, Dub Reggae, Shoegaze and more...

Sorry we've been a bit quiet here recently but hopefully the new music on the way will make up for it!

Big thanks to our friends over at Plain Sailing for premiering Nyla's debut track from our genesis release (more on that very shortly)

You can stream 'Wood Island Bass" from the link below in the meantime!

Glasgow via Newtownards producer Nyla pulls up with a cut of screw-face dubstep, packed with malfunctioning electro and UK flavour.

As equally inspired by labels like White Peach as it is Planet Euphorique, 'Wood Island Bass' is sure to get all up in ya face in the best way possible 😤

The track comes as part of the genesis release from new local label BT23 - full release dropping Monday 30th March.

Below you’ll find (almost) 2 hours of delightful music from Timmy & Sam to get you through the post Halloween fear

For our first event we have the amazing Desert Sound Colony joining us in the Ulster Sports Club.
On November 2nd we welcome him for both a Belfast and Irish debut, if you aren’t familiar, check this out from last week on Bradley Zero’s NTS show.
Expect breaks, house, UK sounds and even some techno...

Rhythm Section w/ Bradley Zero & Desert Sound Colony 11th September 2019 Playing Techno, Breaks, House. Rhythm Section Radio was founded in 2009 and moved to NTS in 2012, and has since pulled out the stops breaking new music, promoting independent labels and paying homage to the greatest music from the past, through a perhaps unhealthy obsession with record digging.
