Tom Black Auction update
 
Thanks so much to everyone who took part in our charity auction for Tom Black this weekend.  Your generous contributions have meant so much.
 
There were over 50 dealers who took part with over 63 lots available.
 
The total amount raised was £17,302
 
This wonderful amount has been donated to Tom’s family.
 
Tom sadly passed away from Pancreatic Cancer in December.  He was a well-loved member of the antique community.  He was only 36 when diagnosed and leaves a very young family.
 
We are all so humbled that we have been able to support Tom’s loved ones at this time.

- CHARITY AUCTION FOR THE FAMILY OF TOM BLACK -

With the incredible support of the Antiques and Vintage community, an auction is currently being held to raise financial support for the family of Tom Black. Tom was the owner of Brightling Antiques and sadly, recently passed away from cancer.

The Auction began on Thursday 12th January and is running until 9pm on Sunday 15th January. Many dealers are currently involved and all items currently up for auction can be found via . Bidding takes place in the comments of the sellers Instagram grid posts, simply leave your highest bid, winners will be announced and contacted on Sunday. All money raised will be donated to the Go Fund Me page set up by Tom's friend Eve. Any support, be it shares, likes, donations and comments are greatly welcomed and encouraged.

Please do consider having a browse on the hashtag above to find out more about all of the wonderful dealers and items involved. A series of lives will be taking place on Instagram over the next few days.

My dear vintage friends. We did it. We got together in a way we knew and loved and supported our Ukrainian Friends. Our Vintage, Antique and Artisan Charity Auction has raised over £8,240 (and rising) for the

The last 7 days has been a whirlwind. Firstly thanks to our co-hosts Sophie Estelle and Julia and Jo Roberts for all headlining this auction. It’s been an absolute pleasure to work with you.

Secondly, thank you to our auction counters Jane
tracey from and Eran – counting takes over an hour and a half to go through all the posts and comments on our – thank you!!

Thirdly a huge thank you to all our 110 dealers who donated their wares, & their time to this cause! Your help has been tremendous! We are a team so please be proud of yourselves! We did this together!

And of course, we love you bidders the most! Your generosity has been astounding. We thought we had a figure, but it turns out a lot of you have over donated. This is incredible. Thank you.

Lastly, we need to thank all the lovely influencer accounts who shared our auction on their stories to spread the word. There are so many to mention and I’m running out of mention tags but special thanks to Paula from who mentioned our auction twice, Sarah from who convinced her partner do donate a special painting, and Samantha and Tamara from who mentioned us pretty much every day!

The dire situation in Ukraine increases daily and at times this auction has been a tonic and a break from the atrocities that we feel so powerlessly to fix. I also know that if we could do more we would. Let’s hope and pray that peace is restored soon. The world will be a better place if we WILL it on so.
