Friday night at the Railway! Come and enjoy the Sound of the Sirens. I saw them last year and they are fantastic. Music from yours truly and Dan Owers too.
Clip from my first gig after an absence of more than a year due to sarcoid. I managed to stay standing throughout and managed without pain medication, although the bar does supply ear plugs for the audience.

Getting back to some guitar playing. Telecaster into a Vox AC30 is heaven.
Starting to strengthen voice again after months away from singing. I have a suspected diagnosis of a very rare autoimmune disease. Recent lumbar puncture may show more results but for the time being itās patience and doing what I can to get back to ānormalā. Although Iām not sure Iāve ever been that!

Next stage in recovery; getting a haircut and the beard trimmed by - and wearing jeans for just about the first time in months.

Earlier this year after the bad effects of my nasal surgery it seemed like I might not be able to sing like I used to again which was devastating. With courage, research, determination and Iām now looking forward to sharing my voice and my songs with you and wish you the courage to fight and overcome your own obstacles. In the dark there is light!

When each of King Arthurās knights went on their quests for the holy grail they started their journeys by choosing to go where they feared the most. To enter the forest in the darkest place they could find. That was the inspiration for this lyric.

Itās been a rough winter of physical and mental health issues. There were points where I was having the worst thoughts, Iāve shared a bit on Instagram and may do so here at some point too. Due to health issues I wasnāt even sure if Iād be able to sing any longer which was to me was unthinkable. This was one of the first songs I tried singing and helped me think that life is worth living despite its hardships.

I know most of us probably spend too much time on social media which I think can be very unhealthy. Great time playing at The Joiners Southampton night (I did actually play inside, not just hang around outside the door!). Spear of Destiny were really good! I hadn't heard much of their stuff before but glad to be more educated now :)
From my first live gig in a while!!! Had a great time doing a support set for Mark Chadwick of the Levellers last Friday :)
