KUALA LUMPUR: Seramai 42 individu ditahan selepas dipercayai terbabit dalam kejadian pergaduhan di hadapan Plaza Low Yat, Bukit Bintang, petang tadi. Pergaduhan membabitkan sekumpulan lelaki itu dipercayai mempunyai kaitan dengan perebutan pelanggan di premis menjual komputer dan komputer riba. Ketua Polis Daerah Dang Wangi, Asisten Komisioner Mohamad Zainal Abdullah, mengesahkan kejadian berkenaan dan berkata pihaknya menerima maklumat berhubung kejadian pergaduhan berkenaan pada jam 7 malam tadi. "Sebaik menerima maklumat sepasukan polis dari Unit Rondaan Bermotosikal (URB), Unit Kereta Peronda (URB) dan Ketua Polis Balai Tun H S Lee, bergegas ke lokasi kejadian. "Hasil tindakan awal kita sebaik tiba di lokasi kejadian, seramai 42 orang ditahan dan dibawa ke Ibu Pejabat Polis Daerah (IPD) Dang Wangi, untuk tindakan lanjut," katanya kepada BH hari ini. Beliau berkata tindakan itu adalah bagi mengelak sebarang kejadian tidak diingini lebih buruk berlaku. "Kita menahan semua suspek berusia antara 20 hingga 35 tahun untuk siasatan lanjut bagi menjalankan siasatan mengenalpasti motif sebenar mereka berbalah," katanya. Beliau turut menegaskan bahawa kejadian pergaduhan itu tidak membabitkan sebarang unsur perkauman. Semua suspek akan direman esok untuk siasatan lanjut dan siasatan dibuat mengikut Seksyen 147 Kanun Keseksaan, atas kesalahan melakukan rusuhan.
