Villandi Exhibition Stall
We strongly believe in the concept development process through sketches with as much detailing in terms of planning and zoning, proportions, materials, colour scheme and construction methods before moving into softwares.
The sketch shows the initial concept and thought process for the stall.
Villandi Exhibition Stall
The idea started with puncturing the front wall with 2 show windows and low height display units on both sides of the main entry. This opens up the stall from the aisle, grabs the attention of a visitor and initiates contact and interaction with the inner display units. Also, a few walls have been curved to maintain a desired flow of circulation in and out of the stall.
Villandi Exhibition Stall
The stall was divided into 2 major zones for better circulation. The space to the left on entering the stall was dedicated for the display of jewellery and towards the right was the space given for private discussions with clients. As one enters the stall, he/she is first attracted to the curved purple display in the front, then moves towards the left to go through the entire collection and later heads to the discussion area where the selection will be done with ease.
Villandi Exhibition Stall
The project was to design an exhibition stall for Villandi Jewellers at the Bridal Asia 2022 show held inside a luxury hotel of New Delhi. It was designed and executed in 20 days altogether, while the installation of the stall at exhibition was completed within a limited time frame of 24 hours.
Yellow Line Apartment
The brief was to design a 100 sq.yd. Apartment building with individual floors to be sold out separately in a peaceful green South Delhi neighbourhood. This 15ft x 60ft north facing corner plot had an advantage of opening up windows and balconies into the side service road as well. The building’s height was restricted to 15 meters including a Basement, Stilt Parking and a G+3 structure with Terrace.
Yellow Line Apartment
The concept for the façade was to somehow provide a playful yet minimal look. Since the corner plot was covered end to end on all sides and all the floors were replicated as the same, the outer walls could not have any punctures or variations to it. It could also not have any projections coming out as it would extend outside the plot line. Hence the idea was to use lines and grooves to break the whole mass into different textures and colours to create an interesting composition.
Yellow Line Apartment
The off-white texture painted surfaces were made with thicker plaster to visually add some depth.
All the dark grey aluminium doors and windows on the façade were further bordered with a dark grey painted moulding around it to create a strong visible definition and the balconies have full glass railings bordered with metal members to match with the lines of the façade.
Yellow Line Apartment
Then the side façade was divided into 4 major zones where the first being the front bedroom + washroom and then a living room + kitchen, then the staircase and towards the rear was the guest bedroom.
The vertical stacking of the plumbing pipes, were boxed and painted yellow to add an element to the otherwise flat 60 feet side facade.
Yellow Line Apartment
Considering the narrow width of the plot, the zoning and planning of it had to be done very carefully so that every square foot area is utilized efficiently with ample amount of light and ventilation for the end user.
The concept started with placing the lift and the staircase at the center aligned to the service road, so that a bedroom and washroom can be created at the rear and also, allowing enough space for a living + kitchen and a front master bedroom + washroom. The bedrooms were placed at the front and rear ends to allow natural light and to provide balcony space for both.
Yellow Line Apartment
For the front facade, the floors were separated using thick dark texture painted bands, breaking the volume down. The right corner was opened up to the exteriors using a large corner window and a narrow balcony. To the left of the window, vertical bands were created of all the three colours used in the whole façade (off-white, dark brown and yellow).

The idea was to keep the facade simple with use of grooving in plaster and texture paints. The second floor has a large semi covered balcony bridging the outer greenery to inside the house.
