A nice weekend in Riga (Latvia), and happy to have given local talent a good stage to perform: this is Aurora's mission.
Now let's get ready for the next Jazz-O-Tech event at Sage Beach with Fabrizio Rat, Studnitzky, Jazzanova's Alex Back and myself, where I will present Jazzotech's new double LP on vinyl.
Last but not least, keep an eye out for the release of Friday's single with DZ'OB, in which we will convey a strong message and you will see me for the first time engaging with my electronics in a classical music piece.

The countdown has begun!
This Saturday, 13.08, Daniel Calvi and I will make our live debut with our new project "505" at the SAGE BEACH
for the "This is Techno Jazz" party.
For the occasion we have asked bassist Umberto Lepore aka Dr. Malgiani and trumpet player Yael G*t aka Trumpetation to share the stage with us!
It will be a unique experience for me: after 15 years of DJing I will finally be able to take the stage performing with a band, with extraordinary musicians who have been forging their talents for years.
The surprises don't end there, because the legendary Matthew Herbert will also perform on stage, along with true music lovers and lifelong friends Gianmarco Silvetti , Marco Bruno , Segno Discorde and Dimitra Zina .
I am impatient and nervous at the same time. With the crew of my beloved Jazz-O-Tech, Klangzeit, Jazz:Re:Found
and MolinariSambuca we have been working for several months on this event to provide a refreshing sound for Berlin music lovers.

"East Berlin, end of December 2020, I am standing in front of the window of my apartment on the 17th floor. Few cars drive through the intersection, the buildings are illuminated and on the horizon rests a large full moon, almost as if to complete a painting, forming a perfect composition.
Like a painter I decided to recreate the landscape using a computer instead of a canvas, and a synthesizer instead of brushes and colors. "It is it," I thought, the time is right. "Now I'm going to record something." So I set to work and after an intense session of six hours the beat of "Moon, please don't go Away" was born. An ode to inspiration, to that perfect moment that you wish, would never end. Then, I asked Alberto Fiori to complete the work. Alberto has a deep feeling for music and I knew he would be the right person for this."

E’ una raccolta di 5 brani, che descrive appieno il mio concetto di musica elettrorganica, e che richiama alle visioni della techno e del jazz.
Condividere questo debutto con amici e artisti che rispetto, è molto motivante, e se siete alla ricerca di nuovi suoni cinamatografici, groove psichedelici e paesaggi misteriosi, siete nel posto giusto.

With my Jazz-O-Tech team, we are working on releasing my solo EP.
It's a collection of 5 tracks, fully describing my concept of electro-organic music, and harking back to visions of techno and jazz.
Sharing this debut with friends and artists I respect is very motivating, and if you are looking for new cinematic sounds, psychedelic grooves, and mysterious landscapes, you are in the right place.

BIO
Mattia Prete is a dreamer. His mind and his music are lost in cinematic worlds where the freeform nature of jazz and hypnotic repetition of techno trap you in the moment. He is someone who gets you in a trance as both a DJ and a producer. He is always looking to make deep connections with mind, body and spirit, and as such is one of avant guard techno's most vital artists.
Prete grew up in Lecce, and was obsessed with a DJ controller his parents bought him before he was even a teenager. That obsession grew and within a couple of years he was playing anywhere he could, from birthday parties to beach parties. It was techno that most fascinated him, though, and eventually took him to Berlin. The German techno capital is now where he run this own parties, has his own studio and manages two forward thinking labels in aurora., which builds bridges between scenes and sounds all over Europe, and jazz-o-tech, which fuses jazz experimentation with techno soul into fresh new sounds by artists like Sunil Sharpe, Tensal and Vsk, and also includes the This is Techno Jazz party in Berlin.
As a DJ, Prete cooks up meditative and mesmerising atmospheres that are always built on powerfully propulsive grooves. He has a widescreen sound and uses silence as a tool to augment the dynamics of his music. He is also a DJ who likes to take risks, having learnt how to do so after hundreds of hours as a resident at Amigdala, one of Rome’s most revered parties. As part of the Beat Movement project, he has toured Europe's finest from Tresor and Griessmuhle in Berlin, to Street Party Pristina in Kosovo, Lärm in Budapest and Moog Club in Barcelona. "I love to experiment in every kind of situation," he says. "It does not matter if the club is big or small or big, or the crowd weird or composed, I just love to serve up something unexpected."
The intricate rhythms of jazz and unrestrained creativity of the genre are what inspire Prete in the studio. Add to that a love of sci-fi futurism and the immersive, expansive nature of film soundtracks, and you have all the things that make his work so unique. So far it has come on the likes of Subsist and PoleGroup’s digital platform Aine (as part of Beat Movement), as well as DLBM and his own jazzotech alongside artists like S. Tolkachev, Oscar Mulero, Shxcxchx, Umwelt and Sunil Sharpe. Each new track always shows a subtle evolution in his style, from deep to diving, dreamy to dark.
While constantly searching for a perfect loop that can spin forever without growing boring, Prete also makes sure his grooves have a trippy detail or electric texture that makes them all the more absorbing and enchanting. "I try to transform my bad emotions into tracks with good feelings. My aim is to be constantly in flux, never be repetitive or tied to only one musical style."
Transforming emotions and subverting expectations is what Mattia Prete does best, and he's only just getting started.
