Loch Morlich - Icey and beautiful in the sunset

Its been a while since I was behind the lens for one reason or another but I'm back and loving it again. Here's Loch Garten late this afternoon.

Looking down towards Loch Morlich and Aviemore.

Well at last we can go a little further away from home. So I ventured up to Lochindorb yesterday. A wild open moor with blue skies in one direction and rain clouds gathering across the mountains in the other direction. It was snowing up here a couple of times last week!

Can't wait to be able to travel with my camera again. Here's a lovely memory of a beautiful early morning near Torridon.

The skies have been so clear during the last 2 days. Stunning colours across the landscape particularly in the late afternoon before sunset.

After a big snowfall last night and very low temperatures, Loch Morlich was frozen over - the first time we've seen this. You can see people walking across it!

A beautiful afternoon yesterday gave us a spectacular sky captured walking across our local golf course.

Even with frost and snow on the ground the colours of the forest and lochs always amaze me. Here's Loch Garten a few days ago.

Views from our local golf course are always spectacular at any time of year. Here's one from yesterday with the mist just sitting above the tree line. Within minutes the scene had gone and the mountain completely hidden. Sometimes timing is everything in photography and we all need a little luck to be there at the right moment.

A cold, still, misty day yesterday at Loch Garten & Loch Mallachie made for some wonderful reflections.

I love this photo for the perspective it shows. The sheer scale of the landscape in comparison to the house at its base.
