Madden is one of the many amazing kids involved with The Cause & Effect foundation. If your child is experiencing anything like a speech delay, behavioural problems, occupational issues, or just needing extra support I encourage you as a parent to seek them out! It’s not just for children diagnosed with ASD!!

One year ago Madden was a non-verbal 3 year old with EXTREME anxiety. Cause & Effect has completely changed his life (and ours) Madden has an UNREAL team of therapists (behavioural therapist, speech therapist, occupational therapist, physical therapist, a development facilitator and an amazing Team Liason Leader)

He has an Individualized program plan with goals we set for the year!
Last year Madden EXCEEDED every goal and a his year we are on track to do the same!! I can’t express enough how integral every member of his Team was in achieving those goals. Madden would not be the same child today without them! ❤️❤️❤️

Just finished making these yummy treats for Madden’s preschool class tomorrow!! (Don’t worry I’m also bringing diced grapes 🍇as a healthy option!)

I’ve never had the opportunity to see Madden in a classroom setting with his friends 👫
I’ve seen him around multiple children and I’ve seen him struggle to communicate his wants, needs and feelings.

I’m nervous for next year because we loose Madden’s aide Merisha and his funding transitions into more of a school based support in Kindergarten. To help combat this his preschool teacher has agreed that he can also attend on his days off from Kindergarten to keep him in a routine and in a program that helps to support his development and he hopefully can do more catching up then falling behind!!!!

I thank my LUCKY STARS ✨ every single day for this AMAZING Dad🙏🙏❤️
His love, patience, understanding, diligence and commitment to Madden and Madden’s special needs would blow anyone away. Raising a child with Autism is never certain and always a challenge. This guy jumped in head first and goes above and beyond to make sure Madden’s physical and emotional needs are met beyond expectation. He takes every opportunity to learn from our therapy team and implement strategies in all areas of our lives.

This is my best friends daughter Emmy💘 I can’t express how important it is to find a child that connects with your Autistic child on a different level. One that is patient, understanding and is easy going. We take Emmy as OFTEN as we can, especially because Madden has decided she’s the one he wants to open up to and learn from. When she is around we see a different side of Madden, he tries to talk to her, he shares, he EATS what she eats and he wants to do big kid stuff (like use the potty, wash hands, get dressed by himself) We feel unbelievably fortunate to have such a special girl become part of our little family as often as we do❤️

Madden is all out and feeling strong. I’ve never seen him have such a funny sense of humour before! He even made sure to tell me that “seeing the doctor wasn’t scary at all!”
They were able to get enough sections of his colon to test for Hirschsprung’s Disease. We should have answers in a week 😊🙏 I attached a little tidbit about Hirschsprung’s if anyone is interested just SWIPE ➡️➡️

I know I haven’t posted in a couple weeks between Christmas and company (and you know, two kids, work and real life) but today is Madden’s surgery day!
There has recently been a scientific link found between Autism and gut health! It is the reason we are here today, as Madden has had a life long struggle thus far with what we believe to be Hirschsprung’s disease. Today we will hopefully have an answer and a plan moving forward!!!
