Metal straws now available 😊 Around 4.4 billion plastic straws are thrown away in the UK alone every year. Plastic straws are often only used once and they are very difficult to be recylcled, therefore end up either in landfills or polluting our oceans.

Why not make a change and go plastic free with our metal straws. With 7 beautiful colours to choose from, they make a great alternative to single use plastic straws used everyday. Each set comes with 3 different sized straws, a cleaning brush and their very own cotton bag to keep them in.

All of our packaging is plastic free and environmentally friendly. Find them on our website www.cereseco.com or on our Etsy store πŸ’š

Cork wallets now available on website and Etsy store! Our new wallets are 100% vegan 🌱 Slim, lightweight and soft to the touch. They make great alternatives to traditional leather wallets! Cork material is sourced from the bark of the tree, this means that no trees need to be cut down for the material and they are left for years after sourcing to regenerate their bark! An increase in the use of cork leather means that more trees will need to be planted, overall aiding towards a healthier environment πŸ’šπŸŒ

Did you know? Manta rays have the largest brain to size ratio of all cold blooded fish. It has been shown that they are able to recognise themselves in a mirror. This is an indication of high brain function, shown by other intelligent animals such as; dolphins, primates and elephants. It has also been shown that manta rays are capable of creating mental maps of their environment due to visual cues and smells. Unfortunately these creatures are on the vulnerable list, due to overfishing for their gill plates (which are seen as a delicacy) and meat. They have a long lifespan and don’t reproduce quickly, so they have a difficult time bouncing back.

Around 1 billion phone cases are sold every year, with the majority of them being plastic. Our eco-friendly phone cases are fully biodegradable and a great alternative to plastic phone cases. You can purchase one for only Β£16 on our website at www.cereseco.com πŸ’š

Did you know? Bees are really important to us because they pollinate a third of the food that we eat. This is important because many fruits and vegetables need to be pollinated to be fertilised. There are other methods of pollinating (wind, birds, some other insects) but bees provide pollination on a much larger scale. A £1.8 billion has been estimated a year for farmers to manually pollinate their own crops! Unfortunately, bees are in decline due to factors such as climate change, pesticides, and habitat destruction. Want to help? Try planting lots of different flowers to attract bees and give them something to feed on, but remember, no pesticides! 🐝🌻🌸🌺

Don’t forget to wash your phone cases guys! A lot of germs and bacteria can build up in the case and it’s good to wash them frequently. Hot soapy water will do the job just fine 🧼

Did you know? Temperature has an effect on what s*x baby turtles are. Warmer climates lead to more females. Because of this, climate change could have a massive effect on their populations. As climate continues to increase, there may be too many females and too few males to match for reproduction!

As being the only species to have complete and full awareness of what’s happening around us, as well as having moral knowledge of what is right and wrong and the ability to make decisions and take action upon these decisions. It is up to us and us only to make the choices to create a healthier planet, for all that reside in it. 🌍

I’m sure most of us all have some photos of nature on our camera roll, post them and tag us to brighten up all our timelines in this hard time πŸ’š if you can think of some other challenges post them in the comments below! 😊

Air pollution has largely decreased with the outbreak of Coronavirus. With the amount of reduced traffic on the roads and in the air, and reduced activities in big cities. We have shown that it doesn’t take long at all to make a drastic change in pollution levels, and that by working together we can all make a huge difference . I hope in the near future there will be new measures taken by governments to help this happen on a long scale timeline πŸ’š For those that are quarantining, this is a great time to educate children on the effects of pollution, plastic use and climate change. They are the future, and you can never be too small to make a difference 🌍

Hope you are all enjoying the sunshine and keeping safe πŸ’œ Made a fluffy iced coffee earlier and tasted lush so thought I would share how to make it: Add 2 tablespoons of coffee granules, 2 tablespoons of sugar and 2 table spoons boiling water and whisk together until it forms a fluffy like texture. Then scoop into a glass of milk and water and mix together, adding some fluff on top once mixed β˜•οΈ This is also a lot cheaper than buying from a store and also saves plastic from getting into the environment as you don’t need to buy them in plastic coffee cupsπŸ’š
