This week is "National Write a Letter of Appreciation Week". 💌

Who could you write a letter of appreciation to? 🤍 And did you know that the benefit of expressing appreciation is not only for the recipient? Read on...

When I ask that first question, is there someone who immediately comes to mind? If so, I urge you to take five minutes to write a simple letter of appreciation.

Do your thoughts come up blank for what to write? I can help you! Here are a few suggestions:

*Tell a co-worker or employee how much you appreciate their hard work and dedication.
*Is there someone who has especially made your day or week? Tell them what they did and how it helped you.
*Who are people you see on a regular basis that make your life better by their service? Examples: barista, gas station attendant, receptionist, janitor, grocery store employee, UPS delivery person. Write a note of thanks simply for doing what they do.
*Are your neighbors helpful? Write a letter of gratitude for their consideration.

In addition to the joy you will bring the person who receives your letter of appreciation, there is a benefit for you too!

According to Kori Miller in the article, "14 Benefits of Practicing Gratitude", expressing gratitude increases our health and happiness. She writes, "Every time a person expresses or receives gratitude, dopamine releases in the brain. Dopamine, a neurotransmitter, is produced in two areas of the brain: the substantia nigra and the ventral tegmental. The former has to do with movement and speech, the latter with reward (Carter, 2009). When a person expresses or receives gratitude, dopamine releases, thus making a connection between the behavior and feeling good. The more a person practices gratitude, the more often dopamine releases."

Today is bittersweet! 🤍

It is our LAST day of the FREE shipping promotion in the Etsy shop; however, it is also our ONE-month anniversary of being open! 🥳

Honestly, this first month of being on mission to fill people with love and encouragement through words, cards, and designs FAR exceeded my expectations. 🤩

There have been 444 visits to the Etsy shop and almost 869 views of the first products that are currently in the shop! I have received requests for two special orders and numerous requests for specific styles and variations. It fills my heart with SO MUCH JOY! 🥰

Can I share something important, from my heart, with you?

This year it is my brother's mission to spread the word about his daughter, Addy, and Batten Disease. Addy was diagnosed in 2019 with this rare and fatal disease at the age of 7, which has already resulted in vision loss. Despite the heart-breaking diagnosis, Addy has continued to live life to the FULLEST. She plays percussion instruments, runs in track and field, creates, tells jokes, reads in Braille, loves her family and friends, and so much more!

Today is Giving Hearts Day. This day was created in 2008 by the Dakota Medical Foundation and Impact Foundation to encourage people to give and donate as much as possible. The flagship event secured more than $450,000 by both foundations of area non-profits within 24 hours. Since then, this day has been celebrated on the 2nd Thursday of February every year as a day on which you donate to charitable organizations as much as possible to make a difference in the lives of many.

I am asking you to please donate today to 'Hope For Addy'. All proceeds will go directly to benefit Addy and her medical needs. To donate, go to on Instagram and click the Venmo link in her profile! Follow Addy's page to see her living her best life! You can also follow my brother, Kevin Boggs, on Facebook or on Instagram as he combines and shares his passion for snowmobiling with his love for family to raise awareness for Addy and Batten Disease.

In our family we are BLESSED to celebrate two birthdays in less than a week. My daughter and husband's birthdays are 5 days apart.

Today's card is in celebration of my husband's 51st birthday! 🎂

He has requested often that I create a card with photos of our land that one of us have taken. To be honest, the idea of adding photography had me feeling reserved. I didn't know the first thing about editing photography for a greeting card.

But he is WORTH trying it for. ❤️ So I did.
