This is one more of my lawn ornaments where the color has faded away. I repainted it with acrylic paints and was a little more creative with the colors, then sealed it with a couple top coats of polyurethane that deepened the colors more. I enjoy finding these small projects and giving them a new prospective.

My most recent painting I did on commission for a couple of friends, a 12x16 oil of their beloved dog, who passed away last year.

My acrylic-painted frog landscaping hose guides.

THIS IS GEORGE'S STORY

Hi to all my friends, family, and followers:
Check this guy out, an old hose guide that was in our yard. It got damaged where the top part, which is shaped like a frog, broke off from the bottom hose guide and had a few broken holes in the back. So I patched it back together and when I went to put it back in the yard, it dawned on me that it also deserved a new look.

I started using textile paints when I was working at the Home Depot and painted several aprons for some of my associates. It made feel good that they enjoyed my paintings and the practice made me a better artist. I am posting photos of the aprons and I hope you like them as much as I liked painting them.

This painting I did back in 2012. I was experimenting and trying to get a little looser with my brush strokes and paint more Impressionism style than Photo Realism.
Then the next painting I decided to get real crazy with the leftover paint on my palette and used a palette knife for a more Impressionism look or maybe Expressionism. That painting I did do in 30 minutes. Ha ha.

When I first started painting , I would see Bob Ross on TV doing a 30 minute oil painting that looked pretty fantastic. So I decided to try it and painted these ocean wave paintings from video tutorials of his, and it was lots of colorful fun. Also learned some good painting techniques a long the way, but still could not do one in 30 minutes.

These are the two ocean paintings that I painted from the ocean composition drawing that I posted earlier. Their titles are "Before the Sun" and "Sunrise Reflections". I entered them in the Osceola Center for the Arts 2011 Juried Art Show and "Sunrise Reflections" got an Honorable Mention ribbon. I was very excited that I even placed because there were so many beautiful works of art there. I did this sketch of an ocean scene to see how well the composition would work for a couple of paintings that I did in 2011. I have been drawing since I was young, and only did a small amount of painting. I wish I would have painted more but it always seemed overwhelming because I didn't have the knowledge. About 15 years ago I started learning and painting more often, and it became easier and now I really enjoy it. I still make sketches for most of my paintings.

This is one of my seascapes, Morning at Cocoa Beach, it is in a personal collection now, sold it at an art show. I have a few more seascapes that I will post later, but I would really like to get busy and paint more like this one. I will also do works like these on consignment, email me if you're interested.

Arranging my cow and pasture paintings

The graphite drawings I posted earlier were from photos taken along Hwy 192 from a trip to Cocoa Beach FL, and I also did oil paintings of them as shown here. Many of my paintings are created in polyptych groups of two or three, which are called diptych and triptych works of art. They can be divided into multiple sections, or panels hinged together. There are defined by their numbers, as four panels is a tetraptych or quadriptych, pentaptych for five, and so on.

These are two drawings I entered in the 2010 Juried Drawing Show, at the Osceola Center for the Arts. I placed with honorable mention. It was my first art show and I didn't think my entries would get any places. I was pretty excited.
My interests in art started with drawing, and I have done many drawings under consignment, we even traded two portraits to get our taxes done one year. That was pretty cool.

I captured photos of these interesting cows enjoying the shade in a pasture in Kissimmee FL, and just had to paint them.

Welcome to my page of paintings and drawings. My favorites are landscapes, but I also like painting portraits and animals. I enjoy painting all the beautiful places that I have visited in my life, and one favorite is the spacious pastures and cows in central Florida. I also enjoy painting ocean and beach scenery.
