Fear? Ego? Vicious cycle??
All of the above I think 🤦🏻♀️
I’ve always enjoyed being in the gym and in particular, lifting weights / strength and conditioning.
My journey with the gym started because of the sports I used to play. Then it played a large part in rehabilitation and strengthening.
But over the past few months, I stopped using weights. I can’t even put my finger on the exact reason. I just know it happened.
And the longer I avoided using weights, the worse it got.
I’d got myself into a vicious cycle.
Basically I’d stopped weight training, which meant I’d got weaker. And the thought of ‘starting again’ and being weaker (and therefore lifting less weight) was hurting my ego.
I was also worried people would judge me for using less weight or for my form being sightly off.
So I continued to avoid using weights and continued to get weaker and ……… you get the idea!!
Why do we do this to ourselves?
So today I got out of my own way. I mean, it was either go back to the weights area and get on with it or never use them again, the latter not really being an option.
So today I lifted weights again. And guess what happened? Nothing really 🤷🏻♀️
I hadn’t got as weak as I thought, I really enjoyed myself and the people around me didn’t judge me either. Because they’re too busy concentrating on their own programs. Plus, I remembered I’m not actually famous so why anyone would even remember me or the weights I lifted is kinda ridiculous when you think about it 🙄
My point is, we often make up scenarios in our heads. They’re not fact. They haven’t even happened and we allow fear and our egos to get in the way.
So next time you’re avoiding something, I urge you to just get out of your own way and crack on……. I’m sure it won’t end up half as scary as you imagined 👌🏼

A dream becomes a goal when action is taken toward its achievements ~ Bo Bennett
Now I’m not saying having a yacht is a goal of mine, but what I am saying is that your goals are achievable ……… only if you do something that will help you work towards your goal.
You must take action!! Even if it makes you uncomfortable because the best and greatest achievements happen outside of your comfort zone!
Disclaimer: I’d be happy with a yacht too 🤷🏻♀️😂
⚖️ Balance ⚖️
I’m not ashamed to say that I enjoy watching TV.
But what I have discovered this week is that I watch too much TV.
I’ve been staying with my friend and business/accountability partner and we’ve not even turned on the TV since Sunday!!
It’s a strange feeling. Like I miss it and I don’t miss it…. I don’t expect that to make sense because it’s a weird feeling and I can’t quite work it out myself.
So, I’ll be heading home on Sunday and then what?
Back to my old habits?
Or never turn the TV on again?
I don’t think either of those options are right for me but what I do know is that things need to change because my focus on work this week AND my sleep patterns have both benefited. Especially my sleep. Because it’s sleep that I would sacrifice for another episode, never my work!
I’ve started using a power hour for work. So why not use that for TV and allow myself one show per evening?
It’ll be trial and error but what I do know is that it’s all about balance ⚖️
If you can, get yourself outside……every single day.
It’s free and there’s nothing better than fresh air. Especially by the sea 🌊 🏝
Not to mention the health benefits of moving your body and hopefully getting some vitamin D!! I also personally find it relaxing.
📚BOOKS 📚
I’ve always read books. In fact, at one point, I’d accumulated well over 400 books that I ended up having to sell when I moved because they took up too much room.
However, there are books, and then there are BOOKS!
What do I mean by that?
Well the books I previously read were fiction. Mostly girly fiction with the odd crime thriller thrown in. I read on the train to work, during my lunch (if I wasn’t out schmoozing people), on my train journey home and before bed. And there’s no question that reading is better than watching TV but still, the books weren’t really serving me. They weren’t helping me other than keeping my brain active. And that’s just not enough.
Then the pandemic happened and I no longer had the train journeys. So what did I do instead? Nothing. I just stopped reading!!!!! I also increased the time I watched TV instead!!
And THEN I joined an online community where personal development is key, number 1 I’d say! So I started reading again and I’ll be honest, I struggled. Because the books I was reading were educational, mindset and self development books and I just wasn’t used to it.
But roll on 9 months and I’m reading every day again. But no longer fiction and it’s great. I’m learning so much more than I have done in years.
Do I still watch TV? Yes. I do. And that’s ok. But not nearly as much as before.
I’ve also remembered how much reading helps to relax me at night before going to sleep.
So if you’re not reading, please reconsider. And rather than fill your mind with junk, educate yourself instead. You won’t regret it 🙏🏼
I have plenty of suggestions so hit me up if you want them 🙌🏼📚
KOBE BRYANT
“Great things come from hard work and perseverance. No excuses”
Kobe was arguably one of the most successful basketball players and his success didn’t end on the court. He was known for his work ethic and he’s someone we could all look up to and take tips from 🏀💛💜🏀
He’s definitely inspired me over the years and if his death hasn’t taught us that time is precious, nothing will ◾️🐍
IDEAS
“The truth is, it’s not the idea, it’s never the idea, it’s always what you do with it” ~ Neil Gaiman
It’s all well and good having an idea, but until you execute it, you won’t know if it’s a good idea that will lead to you success.
And don’t forget, not all ideas work out, but not trying them in the first place negates the point. The path to success isn’t easy but until you try, you will never know!
If you have an idea, even if it scares you (and it’s legal! 👀😂), go for it…… or watch someone else come up with the same idea and succeed instead!
The Gym…
The gym is like my therapy. I can clear my mind and get a good workout. I can listen to music or a podcast. I can choose cardio or weights, or both!
I have used the gym to help with my sports, to lose weight, to get stronger and as rehab and recovery post surgeries.
But whatever happens in there, whatever I do or listen to, I come out feeling good. And when I feel good, that feeling spills into all other aspects of my life.
Exercise stimulates the production of endorphins and reduces the levels of the body’s stress hormones - it’s a win win for me 💪🏼🙌🏼
ANDY FRISELLA
“The biggest mistake you can make in life is thinking you have all the time in the world”
Please don’t waste your time….don’t put things off until tomorrow or next week/month/year because the right time will never come!!
📚 Learning 📚
Never stop learning, constantly educate yourself.
Whether it’s an online training platform, courses, books……. there’s a plethora of information available so why not soak it up!
“The capacity to learn is a gift; the ability to learn is a skill; the willingness to learn is a choice” ~ Brian Herbert

Thoughtfulness …..
One of my besties bought this for me. I’m not sure if she’s hinting that I smell (🤦🏻♀️😂) but either way, I’m super happy because not only is it lovely to know you’re being thought about, but I also love Lucy Bee products and I really wanted to give this one a go!! 🥰
New book, let’s go!!
I recently bought this for my friend and she said it’s amazing so time to give it a go myself …… and I’ve already got Not A Life Coach lined up!!
So I think it’s going to be a bit of a James Smith month 🤷🏻♀️
Have you read his books?? 📚
I think the caption speaks for itself…….
What are you waiting for? What’s holding you back?
There will never be a right time to do the things you want to do, or the things you dream of doing, so in the words of a famous sporting brand…… just do it!!!!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼
Sunday Funday
If you work Monday to Friday - what are you doing with your weekends?
Dreading Monday or working on a side gig so that Monday is just another day in the week??
🗣Get outside 🗣
And not just because the weather is beautiful right now, but because it’s great for exercise and to clear the mind!
It doesn’t always have to be scenic either, walk the streets as well, in the pouring rain if you have to! I’ve done it plenty of times!!
The benefits of getting outdoors are exercise, vitamin D, can be social, can lessen anxiety and improve your sleep…….
Do you go outside often enough?
New book…… well, old book actually!!
I’ve decided to read this again. I read several books at the beginning of my journey (when I starting my online business) and looking back, I probably didn’t take away as much as I would now.
So I’ll be re-reading a few books over the next few months I think!! 📚
Most of the time, it’s simply a case of managing your time……..
Today I’m seeing my friend. So I planned to do a majority of my business sprint before midday and ensure my 2 exercises and book reading were also done before midday.
Check ✔️
There’s nothing to say you can’t enjoy life and socialise whilst doing a sprint. I work 5 days a week and run my own online business AND still manage it.
It’s simply a case of planning ahead. And WANTING to do it 💪🏼
Stepping out of your COMFORT ZONE!!
Work hard!!
Health health health!!
My tip for not drinking alcohol: just don’t drink it 🤷🏻♀️
Get up, get out and enjoy the day!!!
Today is World Water Day 🌎 💦
This day is to celebrate water and raise awareness of the global water crisis.
Water is one of our most valuable resources; it’s also finite and irreplaceable!! That’s a pretty scary thought!
So let’s make sure we value water and appreciate how precious it is........ especially those of us lucky enough to have it running into our homes!
And given how important and vital this resource is to us, if you’re able to be able to choose the quality of your water, even better 💪🏼💦 forever grateful 🥰
Quote of the Day
If you give people a good enough 'why', they will always figure out the 'how' - Jordan Belfort
Your 'why' is key. You need to understand your 'why', otherwise without it, what are you aiming for?
Quote of the Day
I think this speaks for itself ❤️
Neither should be difficult so let’s start saying it out loud.........
“WORK HARD
BE KIND
AND AMAZING THINGS WILL HAPPEN”
Quote of the Day
This is so important. It’s so easy to give up when something gets in your way.
Something happened to me today, a massive obstacle has been chucked in front of me. So I’m having to adjust. I’m hoping the obstacle will be moved but in the meantime, I’m navigating around it and cracking on.
Because giving up and turning back isn’t an option for me...........
Quote of the Day
I love this quote and I really do think it speaks for itself ........
We are the pilots, let’s do it our way!!
Quote of the Day
I needed this today. Yesterday was quite a testing day for me, and mostly down to silly little issues that built up as the day went on. Needless to say, everything was sorted in the end and I’m still here with my health and happiness.
Potholes, bumps, blips......... they’re all the same thing and we’ll encounter them every day. That’s just life.
But let’s not get caught up on them, there’s always a solution, just keep going and enjoy the ride!!
Have a great day everyone ❤️❤️
Quote of the Day
“There’s nothing wrong with a little time out”
Don’t forget YOU. Remember self care. Don’t be scared to take a break.
You can have whole days as a break or you can just switch off for a few hours. Whatever you need, just do it. It’s not failure, it’s looking after yourself xx
Quote of the Day
“Life is a journey, not a destination”
This one is new to me. I’m going to look at this as a destination being final, and I always envisaged where I wanted to be, where I’d end up living and who with etc. and there’s nothing wrong with that. I’m just not sure that’s me anymore.
I now see that life is one big journey and whilst I do have plans and goals, big ones at that, and of course I have places I want to visit, I just don’t need a destination as such. That feels final to me and I like the idea of having dreams that are now goals and goals that will be a reality .......... so let’s see where this journey takes me.........
Just one of my fave places!
This photo makes me happy 😊
QUOTE OF THE DAY
“The difference between successful people and really successful people is that really successful people say no to almost everything”
This is something I really need to work on. I rarely say no because I want to help, in fact I love to help people and that means saying yes a lot of the time.
I get such a sense of satisfaction when helping others, solving problems etc. Let’s be clear, I’m not suggesting for one minute that I don’t spend time on myself, because I do. But my point is I very very rarely say no!
This needs to change. I need to prioritise and work on myself.
In all honesty, I won’t be abandoning my friends and family, I just need to find the right balance and I’m confident I will learn how to do this on my new journey.....
Thanks Mr Buffet!
👀Quote of the Day👀
We’ve all been guilty of talking about what we want to achieve, and maybe even how we can achieve it 🤷🏻♀️
But how many times have we left it there? How many times have we had this same talk, over and over again? With ourselves, with our friends, with our families or we may have even written it down somewhere?
But what did we actually do about it??
At the end of the day, the only way to make it happen is to do it. Stop talking about it and actually do it........ and this time, that’s exactly what I did 🙌🏼🙌🏼
Are you ready??
This weekend is about some of my fave places....... New York City - I love NYC, the hustle and bustle, the famous hotspots and let’s not forget the shopping 🌎❤️
