The Arlington Art Dealers Association started with a few art professionals on Abram Street. The idea expanded to include a gallery on Bowen Rd and then Main St. This core group jointly agrees that we need to do more to bring attention to the arts in Arlington. The Charter Members are The Upstairs Gallery, College Town Renaissance Center, Contempo Art Glass Gallery and Create Arlington. Watch this

ARLINGTON GALLERY NIGHT - JUNE 5 - 12-6pm
In the last two years four galleries have emerged as venues for contemporary art in central Arlington: College Town Renaissance Center, Contempo Art Glass Gallery, Create Arlington, and Kar-Lynn Art & Frames. These exciting new businesses have joined with The Upstairs Gallery to form the Arlington Art Dealers Association and coordinate their openings for the first Arlington Gallery Night in about 20 years.
The AADA core members are committed to developing and fostering a thriving arts community in Arlington by providing opportunities for local venues to create spaces for visual and performance artists. AADA looks forward to the day when it can broaden its educational outreach and provide internships and scholarships for young artists.

With a focus on art in Arlington, the newly formed Arlington Art Dealers Association is holding a joint event on Saturday, June 5. Each core member of AADA will be inviting guests to an opening in their respective businesses. Each is committed to bringing more attention to fine art in Arlington. Locations include, College Town Renaissance Center, The Upstairs Gallery, Contempo Art Glass Gallery, Create Arlington and Kar-Lynn Art and Frames. Opened in 2020 – Contempo Art Glass is focused on bringing glass art and classes to Arlington. The gallery features all types of glass creations (fused, blown, mosaic and stained), metal, wood and mixed media. Art works are created by national and local artists offering a variety of styles and prices. For our June 5 event, guest artist Patty Marshall will be in the glass gallery showing her work.

Established in 1978, Kar-Lynn Arts & Frame has served the Arlington community with custom framing for decades. A curated gallery space, showcases local artists' works including Sarah Henry, Tiffany Spencer, Sands Weems, Russ Van Der Linden and South African sculptor Ken Maloney. Thirty Americans: 20 More: Masters. The CTRC will present the works of twenty master African American artists. The works presented are informed by the life experiences of the artists. The genres, styles, and mediums presented are varied: works on paper, canvas, collages, etchings, quilts, and sculpture. Come inhabit the world of fascinating art and artists. The works presented will amaze you! Pieces from the CTRC’s permanent collection, The Henderson-Light Collection of American Art and Art from the African Diaspora, will also be on display. The show runs through August 28, 2021

Since 1968, The Upstairs Gallery has exhibited paintings, ceramics, and pottery in a range of styles from traditional to contemporary. The gallery's June 5th show entitled "Some People", will feature paintings by emerging artist Treslyn Shipley. Treslyn paints people-- not portraits but groups of people whose humanity emerges in their engagement with each other.
