Now that we have entered the full moon in Gemini what crystals will you be carrying with you ?

We recommend sodalite, blue lace agate, clear quartz, moonstone or tigers eye. If you missed charging your crystals last night in the full moon don’t worry you can still catch its energy tonight as the moon will be 99% full still!

We also recommend making some moon water, try to get natural filtered water and add it to a glass container. Set it outside over night or place in a window where the moonlight reaches. In the morning set your intentions you want with this moon water and you can drink it all at once or as you’d like. For the Gemini full moon we recommend directing it towards letting go of anything that no longer serves you or benefits you especially as we approach 2023!

Libyan Desert Glass vs Moldavite ✨

Found in the Sahara region of Libya and bordering Egypt Libyan desert glass is considered more rare than Moldavite. Moldavite can be found in 5 main deposits across the Czech Republic, Germany and Austria.

While both are tektites they boast very different formations. Libyan Desert Glass was formed about 29 million years ago, Moldavite was formed about 15 million years ago.

Libyan Dessert Glass is nearly pure silica meaning the temperature reached over 1600°C while it formed. It still remains a mystery to scientists how it actually formed as there is no crater from impact unlike Moldavite.

The geologic fingerprint of Libyan Desert Glass shows various minerals and crystals are are only present from meteor impacts. Researchers believe the impact reached temperatures over 1600°C which is hotter than any other igneous rock on earth. Due to these high temperatures within the glass are rare occurrences of high temperature minerals including a form of quartz called Cristobalite.

Moldavite is thought to have been created by an incoming asteroid that broke into two before they hit earth. Upon impact the rock in the area was instantly vaporized by the heat of the impact. The rocks then immediately condensed into a molten liquid and then almost immediately solidified into an amorphous glass. The condensation and solidification were so fast that mineral crystals did not form, and gases were trapped in the glass. This is why you often can see gas bubbles in authentic Moldavite.

Many mysteries about Libyan Desert Glass still remain. Scientists have yet to confirm the exact location of the source crater, its size, and determining whether it has eroded away over the past 29 million years.
