With the onset of winter, and the current cost of living crisis, it's not surprising that studies are reporting an increase in rates of depression, anxiety and stress.

Breathing exercises can reduce stress by increasing oxygen exchange, which reduces your blood pressure, slows the heart, and releases any tension held in the abdomen.

We are so shocked by the number of NHS workers who sadly die by su***de and the recent dramatisation of ’s memoir drew this into the public's consciousness with the death of the character of Dr Shruti Acharya, played by
Duty to Care exists to provide support when it is needed and the inscription on the plaque resonates strongly with our mission: 'Take Care of those who take care of others'
We must support the amazing NHS staff who support us and provide them with the tools and techniques so that they can keep themselves well or access help quickly when they need it.  At Duty to Care we remove barriers to getting well-being and mental health provision so that our NHS workers have the support when they need it the most.
We agree with friend of the charity, Liam Barnes, founder of who said at the unveiling: “The main challenge is the feeling that you must maintain a stiff upper lip and that it is just part of the job. We must change attitudes... No one should be weighed down by feelings of shame, weakness or a culture that prevents people getting the help they require.”
