Karrie Yank Interiors
Interior design’s been in my blood forever. My first creations were shoe box rooms with sofas & chairs cut from the Sears catalog! I love designing.
I’m driven to know my clients, discover a direction, and create personal, functional spaces.
I am soooo bad about posting on FB for my business. But we’ve been working on new branding and have launched a new website…definitely worth a post!
Check it out and let me know what you think

You know you’ve done it right when you hear: “Shazam!” “Wow! I love it!” Happy to say I’ve heard both recently — made my day both times 🤩💃🏽👏🏼
Right, by the way, means right for you. A good designer knows how to listen and help you go from Meh to (see above).
Case in point, this powder room. Gives all the feels now. 🙌🏻 Swipe to see where it started.
Finally done and we LOVE it so much!! ❤️❤️❤️ If you’ve been waiting to start a project I gotta say this from my own recent experience: believe that a well done room can change your life! 💯⭐️✅ (We had been living with a carpeted bathroom, installed years ago for who knows what reason??? 🙀)
Think about how much time you spend in your home and what tranquility is worth to you if you are on the fence. I’m here to work out the deets with you and make your room functional, beautiful, personal, and full of life 🤗.
Shoutout to !
WHICH WOULD YOU CHOOSE?? 💫⭐️💫🧐
Mulberry Wine (marked as option 2) (or Storm Cloud Gray (marked as option 1) (actually a gray-green)??? 💫⭐️💫🧐 **Click to see entire design
These young parents asked for a haven for their primary bedroom (3 rambunctious little boys, need I say more?! 😂)
We started with lots of input from them, then a mood board to establish a vibe, then 2 designs. Going to be fun to see which way they go. 😄
Notice the art. 🎨 These transplants to the PNW wanted something to reflect their new home base. 🌲❤️
WHICH WOULD YOU CHOOSE??💫⭐️💫⭐️option 1 or 2? 🧐 Swipe for 2nd design.

We started by establishing a vibe that they liked via a mood board, then I designed two options. Going to be fun to see which way they go.
Notice the art? Both are artists’ renditions of Portland. These transplants to the Northwest wanted something fun over the bed that reflects their newly adopted city.
Raise your hand if putting out pumpkins 🎃 gets you a little excited because it seems the gateway to the holidays. 🙋🏻♀️
And if you love ‘home’🏡 and all it represents, right about now you’re looking forward to whatever’s your version of special times with family and friends in the coming months. 🦃🎄
Because if you’re like me, as you add a pillow here, add branches to a vase there, you’re thinking about the people you love enjoying the nest you’ve created. ❤️❤️❤️
Don’t hesitate to reach out if I can help you with your vision. 💫
I HAVE A RUG THING!! 🙌🏻❤️👏🏼
I was pretty much in heaven meeting with my new friend Nedim yesterday. Stacks and stacks of old, plush beautiful rugs. 😍😍😍 I mean look at the colors in the one I’m holding!! 🤩🤩🤩
A fab rug is one of my favorite ways to start a project. It’s about finding that piece you can hardly WAIT to see in your space. That’s my Disneyland—seeing you light up, and building from there to create a room that’s personal, beautiful, and functional. 👌🏼💯☺️
Happy Monday Friends! 🌻…Thinking about how we perceive rooms as welcoming (warm) or uninviting at a glance….
When I design, I always ask myself where the warmth is going to come from. 🤔
Imagine this room minus the live-edge walnut table and patterned rug. Pretty flat. 🙈.
A beautiful wood grain is one of my fave ways to introduce warmth…what are some ways you bring warmth to your 🏠??
Maybe this isn’t rocket science 🙄, but a room isn’t finished until it’s accessorized. 💯
Go-to’s: candles, vases, branches, books, art. 📚🖼🍂Again, not rocket science but it’s about the choices and groupings creating warmth and interest.
If it’s not your jam, that’s why I’m here! It’s my Disneyland 😁!
Happy Labor Day, Friends! 🌻🌻🌻

Love 💙 how this little kitchen nook turned out. Fresh, clean, welcoming. And how ‘bout the curved lines on the hutch? 🤩
Been quite a while since I’ve shown my face 😁. A couple tidbits to go with:
*Motto—‘If it’s not working, change it.’ Not saying it’ll be easy, but it’s always worth it to mind that inner voice. 💯
*Professional life—I’ve had multiple careers over the years and loved every one until I didn’t…then it was time for a change. (See first bullet 🙄) I LOVE being an interior designer. Creativity, great people, beautiful things, how can I not?? 💫❤️
*Personal stuff—Some of my loves: of COURSE my awesome fam, my bike, my garden, long walks (or short runs 😅), great clothes, fabulous art, food, and people who know how to laugh.
If you’ve stuck with this post this long, thanks for being interested! 🤗
I decided to do what I’m calling ‘soft fall’ 🌻 this weekend…you know, like a soft opening for a new restaurant? 🧐Not really the real thing yet, but a first step.
Added some layers, like trays, blankets, a dried pomegranate here and there, more candles, and more leaves, 🌿 but not orange yet…
What do you think? Does easing into fall softly appeal to you?
A lil Sunday bedside inspo! ☺️

Keeping existing furniture and getting a new look can be tricky. 🧐 This client wanted her bed to remain AND wanted ‘fresh and romantic.’ She LOVES blue so we started there.💙
We tried several shades before finding just the right one, brought in an artist for a custom mural, added personality-filled nightstands, statement lamps, beautiful textural bedding, and there you have it! 💙💙💙
DM me if you want to keep select pieces but achieve something altogether new and fresh!
Contrast and texture give neutral designs punch. 👊 And here’s a nifty rule of thumb:
✨Something dark, something light, something soft, something bright.
✅Dark: pops of black
✅Light: white matting on art
✅Soft: fabric table runner
✅Bright: brass on chandelier
This says it all ❤️.
I love creating a great entry! ✨
It should SAY, ‘So glad you’re here😁’ But it should DO several jobs. Check out how hard this little entry works. It’s a spot to:
✅Drop mail or keys
✅Pull off your shoes
✅Grab extra living room seating
✅Check your make-up
✅Stash a few essentials in a drawer
✅Hang coats (behind the door)
It’s that whole form and function thing!! 😁💯💫
One more pic from Hawaii before heading home. Leaving here relaxed, inspired, refreshed.
in Waikiki. Charm and class all the way, circa 1927.
Wallpaper Wednesday ☺️
What word would you use to describe this paper??? 🧐 still working on finishing touches, can’t wait to share the rest.
💫
This room used to be four white walls and a blow-up mattress on the floor 😀. Now? Inviting guest room. My client and I call it the “Terracotta Room,” and it all started with the wallpaper. She fell hard for it.
We knew we didn’t want matchy-matchy and her vision included an iron bed. I think we nailed a warm, cozy, acquired over time look. Do you love that rich paint color? We tried several, and this one was the clear winner: Mexican Tile.
A lil snow is good for the soul ❄️❄️❄️
My aunt made this Santa cookie jar for my mom in 1963…that’s nearly 60 years ago 😵🎅🏼👏🏼!
Can’t believe it’s survived the years without a scratch or chip. 🌟 What do you look forward to seeing every Christmas that’s been in your family for years? 🎄❤️❄️✨
Don’t tell me dogs don’t know.
I told this guy his best girl was coming home and he promptly took up residence at the door till she showed up 15 minutes later.🥰🥰🥰
Here’s hoping you have someone or something you’re looking forward to this weekend. ❤️❤️❤️
Top of the morning to you!
☀️
Sitting here with a cup of coffee stealing looks at the new fixture every once in a while 😎😎😎
Cannot wait to have family gathered around this table ❤️❤️❤️
