Sweet Revenge 🔪

I get a lot of feedback on this poem. It sparks a lot of emotion. Most people have the perception that it’s about getting even and inflicting painful revenge on the person who hurt you. To me, revenge is moving forward instead of getting back or even. It’s about evolving past the wound. When I wrote this poem, it was a play on “knife in the back.” I visualize the revenge in this scenario as “I’m still standing” and “your weapons don’t work.” But obviously, it’s up for interpretation of the readers 😌 you feel what you feel, and that’s okay 💞
