Russell John Cook
02/11/1952 – 09/29/2020 (age 68)

Russell was born on February 11, 1952 in Peoria, IL the son of Harry and Patricia (O’Leary) Cook who preceded him in death. He was a veteran of the US Army serving in the Vietnam War. Russ worked for O’Reilly Auto Parts in Fulton, MO, retiring in 2017. He enjoyed riding his motorcycles and collecting guns.

He was also preceded in death by two granddaughters, Mia and Ellie and one great-granddaughter, Harper.

Survivors include: one son, Eric Cook (Sabrina) of Lebanon, MO; three daughters, Kristen Cook of Hollister, MO, Anessa Richardson (Scott) of Springfield, MO and Victoria Cook of Fulton, MO; nine grandchildren, Alyssa, Chelsea, Maximus, Kody, Kelli, Chance, Ayden, Cullen and Ollie and three great-grandchildren, Adalynn, Lilah and Phoenix.

Robert Alfred Kemp
08/20/1925 – 09/24/2020 (age 95)

He was born on August 20, 1925 in McKane, Missouri, a son of Otis Henry and Lenora Delphia (Rogers) Kemp.
On June 28, 1948 he was united in marriage to Juanita Lodell Summers, she preceded him in death on February 14, 2004. Robert was a United States Navy Veteran; he had worked as a forklift driver for AP Green Refactory in Mexico, Missouri. He enjoyed being outdoors camping, fishing and gardening and was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church in Mexico.
Besides his wife he is also preceded by his parents, six brothers and two sisters.

Those surviving include: one daughter – Teresa Dann of Van Buren; one son – Bobby Kemp of Benton, Missouri; one brother – Carl Kemp of Tebbetts, Missouri; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Deborah Jean Maddox
09/29/1960 – 09/16/2020 (age 59)

She was born on September 29, 1960 in Fulton to the late James Richard Barnes and the late Delores Jean (Hoover) Barnes.
On July 5, 1980, Debbie married Robert Grant “Rocky” Maddox. He survives her passing.

Debbie worked at Fulton Medical Center and Aramark for many years. She had just recently began working at Kingdom Care Senior Living. She was a member of Harmony Baptist Church and past member of AMVETS Post 153 Women’s Auxiliary. In her spare time, she enjoyed camping, fishing, and going for trike rides with Rocky. But nothing brought her as much joy as spending time with her grandchildren.

Debbie will be fondly remembered by her husband of 40 years; sons, Alvin Grant Maddox (Cyndi) of Fulton, and Clinton Dale Maddox (Holly) of Ashland; brothers, James Edward Barnes (Teresa) of Rich Hill, Eddie Lee Barnes (Madonna) of Fulton, and Dennis Dale Barnes (Ashley) of Fulton; sister, Sandra Sue McGaughey of Fulton; and grandchildren, Hayden Grant Maddox, Zachary Mertin Maddox, and Callie Marie Maddox.

Caroline worked as a Security Aide at Fulton State Hospital for more than 30 years, retiring in 2004. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, crocheting, and spending time with her family. She was an animal lover and especially cared for dogs and horses.

Caroline was preceded in death by her mother, and step-father, Louis Miller.

She is survived by her significant other, Gene Clark; sons, Steven Simpson of Fulton and David Simpson (Mary) of Fulton; step-son, Jason Clark of Fulton; step-daughters, Tiffany Wynn (Zane) of Fulton, and Gena Mahan (Chris) of Brookfield; half-brothers, Louis ""Buster"" Miller of Fulton, and Larry Joe Keeton; half-sister, Laura Crandall of Fulton; and eleven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Laureatha was born September 18, 1951 to Emanuel William Harvey and Rosie Lee Harris. She and Frank Terry were married October 14, 1970.

Laureatha had a green thumb and loved plants. She enjoyed being outside, smoking her ci******es and drinking Pepsi.

Laureatha was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, one sister and three brothers.

Sally Regina Ice

Sally was born on June 7, 1955 in Poplar Bluff to Jimmy and Maxine Ice. She graduated from Poplar Bluff Senior High School in 1973. She worked in banking, was involved with Moms With Multiples and adored time with her children, grandchildren and many fur babies; especially her dog “Reece.” She enjoyed thrifting, taking walks with her nieces, and visiting her parents daily. She wanted to be a comedian, and always will be to her kids. Sally’s fun-loving spirit and deep love for her family will always be remembered.

Sally is proceeded in death by her daughter, Stephanie Morris and her brother, Rusty Ice.

Sally is remembered with love by her children, Carey Neldon of Poplar Bluff, Joe Battig of St. Louis, Zachary Morris of St. Louis and Megan Morris of Waldorf, Maryland; her parents, Jimmy and Maxine Ice of Poplar Bluff; her siblings, Judy (Steve) Million of Lee’s Summit, Mo., Vicky (Kenny) Lamkin of Poplar Bluff, Cathy Ice of Hartville, Mo.; her granddaughters, McKenzi and Madison Battig of St. Louis; and her nephew, Matthew (Nashay) Ice of Poplar Bluff and many more nieces and nephews.

Jesse Jay Perry

He was born on September 28, 1956 in Miami, Florida to the E.H. Meeker and Charlotta (Robinson) Meeker.

Jesse was married to Jeannie (Bonds) Perry who survives his passing.

Jesse was no stranger to hard work and earned his living as a roofer. He was an avid outdoorsman who liked to fish and look for rocks. He also enjoyed Bible Study. He found great pleasure in simply spending time with his family and dogs.

In addition to his wife, Jesse will be missed by sons, Roger Nolf of Kingdom City, and Tommy Shannon of Kingdom City; daughters, Jeannie Childress of Alabama, and Wendy Nolf of Kingdom City; brother, Jack Meeker of Orange, Ca. and sister, Mattie Meeker of Orange, Ca.; ten grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

Dale Alan Ross
10/27/1933 – 08/20/2020 (age 86)

Dale was born on October 27, 1933 in Mountain View, Missouri to the late David Levi Ross and the late Opal Ruth (Cremeen) Ross. He grew up in Missouri and Nebraska, graduating from the University of Missouri in 1955.
On April 1, 1956 he married Forest Glee Harris. The couple began their marriage in Tokyo, Japan where he served as a 1st Lieutenant in the US Army. Upon returning to the US, he earned a MS Degree at the University of Missouri, followed by a career as a biochemist, employed in various capacities in the livestock and poultry feed industry throughout Indiana, Colorado, Nebraska and Missouri.

He is a member at Callaway Christian Church and served as an elder in other Christian churches where they lived. As a member of the Christian Church Evangelizing Association, he helped establish 15 new churches in the Indianapolis, IN area.

As a member of the Auxvasse Lions Club, Dale served in many leadership roles receiving the LCIF Helping Hands Award in 2018, the Lion of the Year award in 2019 and the International President’s Certificate of Appreciation.
He was also a member of the Elks Club in Rolla.
He was preceded in death by his parents, David Levi Ross and Opal Ruth Ross and a brother, Wayne Ross.

He is survived by his wife of 64years, Forest Glee Ross, daughter, Dala Dunn (Dan) of Kingdom City and sister, Luella Brooks (Neal) of Columbia. He is also survived by two grandsons, Tyler Dunn (Shira) and Devon Dunn as well as three great-grandchildren, Vara Dunn, Hudson Dunn and Ethan Dunn.

Jacqueline Jean "Jackie" Colson Frame
10/02/1930 – 08/02/2020 (age 89)

After graduating from Joplin High School in Joplin, Missouri, Jackie earned her education degree from Pittsburg State Teacher’s College in Pittsburg, Kansas, graduating in 1952. It was there that she met John, the love of her life, and they were married in 1952.

Jackie taught elementary school in Liberal, Ks., and Fulton Public Schools and then 25 years at Missouri School for the Deaf at both Stark and Rice Halls.

Jackie showed great strength and courage when her husband John was disabled due to his being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1967 and then being involved in a debilitating car accident in 1980. She was always selfless and “the captain of her ship.”

Jackie was an active member of the First Christian Church in Fulton and loved serving communion to members of the church who were unable to attend.

Jackie was a loving mother and grandmother and loved entertaining family and friends with her marvelous cooking. Her hospitality was unsurpassed. She also enjoyed playing bridge with the Rinky D***s and the Fulton Country Club Duplicate Group.

Jackie was preceded in death by her loving husband, John D. Frame.

She is survived by her three children, Jennifer Rice (Paul) of Grandview, Mo., Julie Huffman (Larry) of Mexico, Mo., and Bill Frame (Robyn) of Columbia; grandchildren, Paula Rice, Katie Coykendall (Jeff), David Huffman, Hannah Ploesser (Alex), and Olivia Frame (fiancé, Pat Kenney). She is also survived by great-grandsons, Jordan Ploesser and Leo Coykendall.

Dean Anthony Love

He was born in Riverton, Wyoming on April 9th, 1963 to Nadine Agnes Hardin. Later on he was adopted by William Weldon ""Skip"" Love.
Dean received his college degree at Central Bible College in Springfield, Mo with his first wife, Cynthia Priester. He later became a pastor for the deaf in Fulton, Mo. Dean had a great love for the Lord. He would faithfully read his bible every morning.
Dean was reunited in marriage to Shannon Gassen. Dean had 4 children, 1 step son, and 10 grandchildren. He loved and adored all his grandchildren, they were the highlight of his life. He would fervently pray for all his family and friends, and gladly share the Word of God.
Dean is preceded in death by his father, Skip Love and his stepson, Zachary Gassen.
He is survived by his mother, Nadine Hardin, along with siblings, Edward, Renee, and Shawn Love; his children and their spouses, Joshua Love, Jessica Brewer, Josiah Love, and Jennifer Love; stepchildren, Joshua Gassen; his beloved grandchildren, Elias and Lexi, Lily and Zeke, Neo, Zoey and Toby, Preston, Avery and Oliver; and his precious dog, Shadow.

Daryll L. Walker

On June 19, 1977, Daryll was united in marriage to Alicia (Dela Cruz) Walker who preceded him in death on March 14, 2019.

Darryl proudly serviced his country in the United States Air Force, retiring after twenty years of service. Following his military retirement, he worked as a postal carrier in Auxvasse. He was supportive of his community and served as alderman and mayor of Auxvasse. The highlight of his life was coaching his three son’s and grandson’s football teams.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by sister, Tracy McBurney.

Those remaining to treasure his memory include children, James Walker of Auxvasse, Angela Grohs (Matthew) of Fulton, Robert Walker of Auxvasse, Crystal Baumgartner of Auxvasse, and Nicholas Walker of Fulton; brother, Robert “Bob” Walker (Elaine) of Auxvasse; eight grandchildren, Zachary Tylar Walker, Lauren Taylar Stone, Anthony Lee Grohs, Aurora Lynn Baumgartner, Makenna Rae Walker, George Edward Baumgartner, Evangeline Mae Walker, and Everly Elizabeth Walker; one great grandchild, Dallas Stone; and three nephews.

Ben Boyce Maddox

Ben was united in marriage to Hazel Deane Stambaugh on October 5, 1946 in Callaway County. They raised three wonderful sons and enjoyed many precious times with their grandchildren at their farm near Hams Prairie. In addition to farming, gardening and various positions on church and school boards, Ben worked for Harbison-Walker for 40+ years.

He was a loyal and devoted husband to Hazel until she passed in June of 2007. A dedicated father and grandfather who loved God, he instilled the value of faith and integrity in his sons and grandchildren. Farming and gardening were his passion for 67 years, and he was especially fond of his chickens.

He was always thoughtful and generous, delivering eggs, fruits, vegetables and wood to family and friends. An avid St Louis Cardinals fan, he watched every game and was even treated to a few games in person. He enjoyed pop-fly baseball in his farm pasture with his sons and grandchildren. His grandchildren fondly remember tractor rides, feeding the livestock, gathering eggs, wrestling, chasing pigs, Saturday night rook games and fishing. He was calm, quiet, thoughtful, loving and could fix anything.

He is preceded in death by his wife, son Dale, daughter in laws Martha and Marcia, grandson Hunter, his parents and siblings Roy, Joy, Guy, Leo, Foy (Pete), Oliver, Margie, Helen, Della and Eva.

Ben is survived by his sons Roger and Mark (Deawne), grandchildren Revelie (Jose), Tracey (Robert), Kirsten, Jonathan Mark (Katie), Jonathan Ryan and Shawn (Erin), great-grandchildren Alex, Ethan, McKenzie, Reese (due August 18) and numerous nieces and nephews.

Joe Bernard Hackman
08/15/1940 – 07/08/2020

Joe graduated from Fulton High School in 1959. He attended college in Tucson, AZ, and later at Hannibal-Lagrange. He wanted to obtain a degree in Mortuary Science, but instead decided to help his parents by working as a milkman at Central Dairy in Fulton, then later in insurance sales for Mutual of Omaha. Later, as a husband and father, he attended Todd Comp Program of The University of Missouri in Columbia, MO, a vocational rehab program, and earned a certificate in computer programming in 1984. While attending the school, he lived on campus and cared for his roommate, who he helped to dress daily, and assist in other ways. He began work as a computer specialist for the USDA in Kansas City, MO in 1984. He and Doris relocated to Belton, MO and remained there, until they moved back to Fulton to retire in 2005.

Joe enjoyed being a part of the men’s ministry at Victory Fellowship Church in Fulton, and Belton Assembly Of God Church in Belton, MO, where he devotedly served both congregations in multiple ways. He enjoyed eating meals at restaurants, closely following politics, sending emails to former USDA coworkers, keeping evidence of every transaction made, back to his first car purchase at Lynn Maughs in Fulton in 1972. He cherished all cards sent to him and his wife, including wedding, birth, and graduation announcements, and always kept the program of any funeral attended. He loved people, anf most of all, and loved spending time with family.

He was preceded in death in 1990 by his brother, Dr. Larry T. Hackman of Manhattan, KS; in 1993 by his mother, Martha Pearl (Hinshaw) Hackmann; and in 1960, by his father Theodore Hackmann.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Doris D. (Bura) Hackman of Fulton, MO. He is lovingly remembered by their daughter, Meschelle Magnuson (Paul), three grandchildren, Adam D. T. Lairmore, Derek R. Lairmore (Jessica), & Heather M. Lairmore. Six Great-grandchildren, Trenton & Trevor Lairmore, Ava & CJ Lairmore, Novy Lairmore & Theodore Byrd; many other relatives, nieces and nephews.

Mabel Lucille Fischer
08/30/1918 – 07/05/2020

Mabel married the love of her life, Marvin Riley Fischer on June 30, 1940. The wedding was on the front lawn of her parents, between two jacobs candles in full bloom and sweet smelling. The arch was made by the men, out of young saplings from Doc Daro’s woods. The whole neighborhood was invited and came to have a good time. The marriage lasted 72 years. They had two children, Dale Marvin Fischer and Rita Darlene Fischer McKeller.

She was a long time designer of beautiful cakes for weddings, birthdays, anniversaries and celebrating church anniversaries. She was known as “The Cake Lady”.

She loved her family and was always helping others. She never met a stranger. Everyone loved hearing her memories of the old days. She wrote many pages of memories in her life. She loved life and everything about it.

She was a lifetime member of the White Cloud Presbyterian Church and very active in the church.

She is survived by her son, Dale Fischer (Sandra) and daughter, Rita McKeller; grandchildren, Loretta McKeller, Leslie Van Norman (Joe), Michael McKeller, Christina Russell, Stacy (Vince)Hughes, Bryan (Ashlely) Fischer; great-grandchildren, Josh VanNorman ( Katy), Miranda VanNorman, Colleen VanNorman, Lillie McKeller, Connor Russell, Sheldon Russell, Alissa Choate, Brandon Hughes, Briar Fischer, Autumn Fischer, Leo McKeller, Maverick Cloud McKeller. She was preceded in death by her life time love, Marvin Fischer in 2011, her parents Wilber and Hettie Vaughn, her sisters, Helen (Frank) Kimbell and Joy (Charles) Underwood and one grandson , Buddy McKeller.

Jennie Melissa McCaffree-Vest
05/23/1958 - 07/07/2020 (age 62)

In 1987, Jennie was united in marriage to Cary Gene Vest who survives her passing.

Prior to moving to Williamsburg, Jennie worked in the restaurant industry. She was a hopeless romantic and renewed her vows with Cary three times. Blessed with artistic ability, she enjoyed crafting, painting, and quilting. She was an active in the lives of her children and enjoyed participating in PTO and class parties. A favorite pastime for Jennie and Cary was to travel to Renaissance Festivals where she was known as “Lady Melissa”. She had an extensive collection of costumes that she designed and made.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister, Karmen Goldwing; and grandson, Colton Eddy.

Those remaining to cherish her memory include her husband of 33 years; son, Christopher Keller (Michelle Parrella) of Williamsburg; Candice Hall (Luke) of Williamsburg and Cari Bundridge (Matt) of Humphreys; sister, Claire Minnick (Kenny) of CO; grandchildren, Thaddeus Keller, Maci Waddle, Carcyn Whitlow, Cadie Whitlow, Carly Smith, and Riley Bundridge; nieces and nephews, Stephanie Homer, Brian Kitchens, Lindsey Goldwing, Tiffany Goldwing, Taylor Harmening; and great nieces and nephews, Jassmine Homer, Nicholas Homer, and Karmen Hailey.

Dorothy Leigh Winingear
03/06/1931 – 06/17/2020 (age 89)

Dorothy was married to William Glenn Reifsteck and George Floyd Winingear, both of whom have preceded her in death.

Dot was very active in the community, she chaired the CMC Christmas Bazaar for many years; Council Woman 2nd ward from 1993-2001; received the Governor’s Award prior to her retirement in 1995; received the American Business Woman Association Woman of the Year; Chairman of Callaway County United Way; and served on the Callaway Hospital Board of Directors. She was a secretary at Ferrugia & Son and Baker & Baker Law Office’s in Fulton, MO. Dorothy retired after 26 years of service at the Fulton State Hospital in 1995 as the Director of Material Management.

Survivors include: her three children, Linda (Bill) Brooks of Auxvasse, MO, Glenna (George) Burre of Tebbetts, MO and William Reifsteck of Branson, MO; four grandchildren, William “Web” E Brooks, Lisa Kee (Doug), Scott Brooks (Terri) and Shanna Marshall (Shannon); five great-grandchildren, Zak Kee (Paige), Jacob Kee (Hailee Bricker), Chance Kee (Lindsay Marcel), Austin Atterberry-Brooks and Lauren Quinn (Colin Miller); one great-great granddaughter, Berkley Nicole Kee; one brother, Phillip Butterfield (Martha); one sister, Martha Glawson and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Shirley Brown; one brother, Joe Butterfield and two infant brothers, Dale and David.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Court Street United Methodist Church OR American Cancer Society OR St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, c/o Debo Funeral Home, 833 Court St, Fulton, MO 65251.

Oscar Franklin Ross Jr.

Oscar was married on September 5, 2007 in Fulton, MO to Mary (Simpson) Ross who survives of the home. Oscar retired in 2006 from the Callaway County Sheriff Department as their administrator.

Other survivors include: three sons, Danny Ross of the state of California, Kevin Ross of Fulton, MO and Wayne Ross (Teresa) of Stanford, KY; three step-children, Brian Shoaf of Columbia, MO, Laura Shoaf of Fulton, MO and Jennifer Renner (Robby) of Fulton, MO and six grandchildren, Rebecca Ross, Aaron Renner, Cody Renner, Jordon Renner, Darien McFadden and Dalton McFadden. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Ross.
