Honor. Respect. Gratitude.
Thank you veterans!
Just a reminder to follow all local authority issued burn bans, sparks travel and as in this instance, farmers don't need this added to their plates.
Tuesday night, Bracken County Farm Bureau Celebrated their 80th anniversary at their annual meeting. There was a short business session; passing a resolution,
election of officers, directors and delegates to the state convention, and adding to the bylaws the position of Chairperson of the Generation Bridge to serve on the board. There was also a talent contest where Perry Poe officiated as the
Master of Ceremonies. Bringing his own microphone, to bring some laughter for the attendees and ease the nerves of the contestants. Before their speeches, Perry interviewed Ainsley Hamilton and Collin Jarrell. Both contestants delivered wonderful speeches and will advance onto the regional competition. We welcome members to join our monthly meetings to learn more of what Farm Bureau is about and to become involved within our community.

FARMER APPRECIATION EVENT
The Bracken County Farm Bureau recently received a Farmer Appreciation Grant from the Kentucky Department of Agriculture. One of the goals of our organization is to solicit more participation for our Young Farmer program. With the assistance of the Mason County Farm Bureau and Bracken County Conservation District, we have set as our expected event outcomes to gain awareness of opportunities available to current agriculturalists, maintain healthy farmer appreciation and life balances and promote mental health and community unity of farm families.
To meet our goals, we have invited businesses and organizations to this event to provide materials for funding opportunities, safety, health, and preventative care for farmers and livestock, new ag technology as well as business opportunities. The evening will begin with guests visiting booths of several businesses and organizations. A farmer’s market will be available to purchase products from KY Proud vendors. Following a locally sourced meal, attendees will be able to ask follow-up questions and request for more information on any of the topics presented that would benefit individuals or the community as a whole. To close the evening, you just might find yourself going home with one of our wonderful door prizes.
We certainly want our seasoned farm families to participate as well. We hope you will act as mentors for our next generation of agriculturalists. An invitation has been extended to folks in Fleming, Lewis, Pendleton and Robertson counties as well as Bracken and Mason. We do ask that you register through your County Farm Bureau office or online at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdT_ABuBaFBc67JRoo5jy8Vn5W2FGWF8bAfXgZ7Gg7hVK5BcQ/viewform?usp=sf_link
The event will take place on Saturday, July 16th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Germantown Fairground located at 4088 KY Hwy. 10, Maysville, KY. We will provide more information on this page as we continue to complete our plans. We hope you will consider taking the opportunity to attend.
