Here you'll find updates on commissioned work, personal projects and stuff for sale. I do costuming
Phoenix Comi- *cough* Fan Fusion 2019 was a resounding...thing that happened I guess.
I find myself questioning where to go with this experiment of mine. I love doing leather work but don't seem to have much interest in it. My laser cut woodwork pays the bills but I don't feel any particular pride in my designs.
If there's something you'd like to see me make/sell, I welcome suggestions/requests.
Been a while since I posted. We're finally settled-ish. Headed to Cali for a couple weeks and then I think it's finally time to get back to work. Like if you're as excited as I am about that; comment if there's something you want me to make (for you, or just 'cuz art).
I've been away quite some time; sorry about that. We're unpacking the new house so hopefully I'll be back to crafting soon!
Done! $220, strap fitted to buyer, and adjustable. Shoulder inspired by WW's tiara.
Edit: Due to demand, and the unlikely chance that a tapioca pudding fight (however entertaining) will resolve the conflict this purse and/or a duplicate of it may be purchased in one of two ways.
1: if you want this one 'NOW,' i will auction it to highest bidder over this coming weekend.
2: if you can wait (an indeterminate period of time...i cant make more than one a week and that is using all my free time), or you want something else (some other hero or art subject matter), pm me with your interest and i will put you in the queue for your own. A deposit of 50% would be needed. All i can promise is delivery within 4months.
dyed and assembled. Still needs a shoulder strap though.
Needs dye next. As promised, more leather work:)
Phoenix comicon was an unqualified success. Thank you to every one that stopped by my table to say hi, appreciate my work, and/or spend money. Your support has been appreciated!
17x17" majora's mask in birch.
Been working diligently on wood cuttings for con. Here's about half of them
COBRA!! (still needs sealer)
Been toying with adding color to my lasered wood cuttings for a while, and a different lasering wood guy has been doing just that. Lol it seems so obvious now.
Anyway, the first of many to come; which due to equipment failures didn't make it to market last year.
Framed Wooden Prints!
Ordering some 18swg steel and aluminum wire. Reproducing that copper sphere, and I have a few original earring designs in the works.
Byzantine 3in1 is a very pretty weave.
Commission for a friend. He wanted one of my locking dice pouches in burgundy, with assassin's creed logo.
Pouch has a belt loop, holds volume around the size of a grapefruit/softball, and uses no plastic or springs.
Been a while since I was active (pain management issues). Planning to change that and spent a few hours at Heatsync Labs last night doing some carpentry for an upcoming product revision.
115ft of 10ga copper wire: chain mail ball complete:) sharpie for scale.
New project: stainless steel, 33inch across, 7 inch deep, 9 sided fire pit with modular cup/plate/foot rests. Test bends for the bowl base successful! Base will be a 9sided dish, 3 inches deep and 33 inches across, made out of a single piece of 1/4" stainless plate.
Why's it here? Cuz this is more than utility, it's art!
Getting back into chain mail. Truncated icosahedron (soccer ball) in 10ga copper. About half way done so far.
Comicare's shield in progress.
Tea Dueling!!! The lovely woman in red was my first patron of this wonderful item, and she just had to have a belt to go with it; so I made her one at 'con. The belt itself has snaps so the buckle can be replaced to match your fashion preferences. I also made it reversible, having been dyed black on the inside:)
Next Cosplay, intended to be finished in time for Saboten. Based on a Vogue suit pattern, and because I apparently hate myself, done completely without applique.
These shields were built to be awesome for cosplay, but usable for SCA or other Combat Groups. The leather handle was a 'funsies experiment' and the other shield's handles are made of oak and steel. The faces of the CapA and Hylian shields are tooled from one piece of leather and...being leather, if they're hit they WILL get minor dents and scratches. The frame of the plain shield is saddle stitched with raw hide.
My first effort at an actual 'cosplay' and definitely something that hooked me on it. The jacket, pants, and weapon were made by me from scratch (though I did buy the ci**rs, rathern than grown to***co and roll my own).
I made this a couple years ago to dust off my sewing skills. I learned three things from this project: 1) waist coats are adjustable for a reason...make them loose. 2) welt pockets are not easy to make. 3) I like making welt pockets.
I make these to order, with hand stitching or riveting, color of your choice, with or without custom tooling.
