Scott Morris for Magistrate Judge
I am running as a Republican Candidate for the Magistrate Judge position in Doniphan County, KS.
I would like to thank everybody for their support through the election process. We were not successful in winning the primary, however, Paula and I enjoyed being able to compete for the position. I do believe that the Magistrate is an extremely critical part of the community and I am passionate that we need to have strong leaders in these positions. I feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to return home and participate in this campaign and to have visited with so many wonderful people. Doniphan County is a great community, one that is strong with heritage, pride and solid family values. Paula and I were lucky enough to see this first hand as we stopped at a large number of homes across the County. Thanks again. Scott
Paula and I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for the hospitality and kindness that has been shown to us so far. We have enjoyed the chance to get out in the community and talk with many of you. We will continue to be out and about in the coming days. Again your support is greatly appreciated. Thank you. Scott
Your vote counts on August 4, 2020 and I would appreciate your support.

I recently filed as a Republican candidate to the position of Magistrate Judge for Doniphan County. This is a decision I have not taken lightly, but did so after lengthy consideration. My wife, Paula (Weishaar) and I grew up in Doniphan County. Upon being hired by The Kansas Highway Patrol we were stationed in Shawnee County and later in Jackson County. We have spent the past 25 years residing in Holton. Paula and I have desired for years to come back to Doniphan County to be near our family and friends. Doniphan County is our home and we have maintained close ties here over the years. Our families still live and work in their communities.
Now that I am nearing the end of my career with The Kansas Highway Patrol , Paula and I would like to return home and become positive and productive members of the Doniphan County community.
Our judicial system is a part of the framework that makes our nation great. However, it is the courts that make decisions everyday that affect each of our lives. It is important to have the right people in those roles who promote fairness, impartiality, justice for all and who follow the rules of the law. The Magistrate Judge is a position that I have always felt great respect and admiration for. This position is one that Doniphan County has been truly blessed over the years with individuals whom have provided strong leadership and representation for our citizens. Judges such as Virgil Begesse, Jerry Dubach and Roy Roper have established an incredibly high standard for the office, having significantly impacted all of Doniphan County. I understand that other judges that have held the position of Magistrate Judge.
However, these three have had the greatest impact on myself, leaving a lasting impression that helped shape my career.
Now more than ever this type of strong leadership and representation is important and necessary. If elected I will work diligently to provide the same type of leadership and representation that you have come to expect. I will provide a fair, impartial and honest representation for all of Doniphan County.
I have learned in my 30 years of service to the Kansas criminal justice system that it is important to be objective and look at every situation based on the incident at hand (everyone deserves their day in court).
I would greatly appreciate and value the opportunity to serve the citizens of Doniphan County as their Magistrate Judge. Thank you, Scott
