Flashback: Fun times at the On The Yard HBCU Caravan hosted by Pasadena City College and the California Community College Chancellor’s Office. College admissions representatives met with students and dozens received on site acceptances! 📚🎓

More Halloween fun! 👻✨ Had an amazing time at the Costume Parade at Norma Coombs Elementary. Got to see some wonderful costumes, and even met Madam President all dressed in pink! Thank you to the AAPC volunteers for helping out with the parade and providing the coffee and doughnuts.

It was an absolute honor to join the esteemed panel on "Local Change, Big Impact: Understanding Different Levels of State and Local Community Leadership" alongside inspiring leaders like Cincinnati Vice Mayor Jean Michelle Kearney, Cook County Commissioner Donna Miller, and Illinois Lieutenant Governor Juliana Stratton. Gratitude overflows for the Leadership Development and Connection and Social Action Committees for this incredible opportunity to serve and be part of an outstanding workshop experience. The general conference was a powerhouse with over 9200 Sorority members painting the town pink and green! 💗💚

It was an honor to be surrounded by inspiring individuals like Nia Bailey, JMHS parents and the AAPC immediate past Chair, and my classmate who has been a part of my journey since our days at Allendale Elementary. Together, we celebrated progression, collaboration, and the power of education.
Honored to have attended the Pasadena Unified School District African American Parent Council’s Black History Living Museum, and grateful to all of the parents, students, teachers, community members and Elected Leaders who came out to support the event.
Students researched and presented live museum exhibits on historical figures. Some of the standout exhibits were Vice President Kamala Harris, Dr. Mae Jemison, Dr. Katherine Johnson, Rep. Shirley Chisholm, and Josephine Baker. Top honors went to Josephine Baker (1st place) and Vice President Kamala Harris (2nd).
A wonderful evening at the Pasadena Educational Foundation’s Inspire 2023 event where Dr. Elizabeth Pomeroy was honored. Thank you Dr. Pomeroy for your incredible dedication and contributions to our community, and for shaping the future of education.
