These sweet 4th graders learned all about ancient Egypt this semester. They made hieroglyphic tablets and finished with designing pyramids. 🇪🇬

These kids showed up with the happiest attitudes and played their hearts out at quiz bowl today…we may not have taken home a trophy but we had a blast and learned some new information. I love working with them and I will take relationship over rigor any day! 👏🏻💖

Bergman Panther 4-6 grade chess kids took the tournament by storm today…1st place individual (undefeated), 3rd place individual, and 2nd place team overall! So proud!

HS door decorating contest kicked into high gear for my 9th grade girls this week-we collaborated and brought the vision to life!
We kicked it back to old school today…introduced them to my OG projector!
In light of it being Cyber Monday…we did a lesson on bio-degradable packing peanuts-they loved watching them disintegrate!
I had 8 students (4 teams) participate in the Y.E.S. For Arkansas competition this year-SUPER proud of their hard work and innovative ideas for their business plans!

We did it!!! 7th grade GT completed 2 different escape rooms with 11+ minutes to spare! 🙌🏻 We celebrated with Hurt’s Donuts and Chick-fil-A...it was a day filled with great conversation, lots of laughter, and wonderful food!
7th grade GT headed up a project in which they used their fundraising money to purchase the supplies and then sew custom pillowcases. Today, they were able to present their donation to the Boone/Newton County chapter of The Call, to be handed out to incoming foster children. 💙💛

Mummies and hieroglyphics all around...ancient Egypt unit was a success! 🇪🇬
One of my 9th graders has a heart for artistic endeavors...so we decided to make use of this ‘canvas’. Loving how it looks! (Don’t worry-special formula paint that is easily washable! 😁)
We have been studying ancient Egypt in my 4th grade class...we colored and cut out our amulets and then prepped our pharaoh queen dolls for burial...kids got to brush them with spices and oils today. Next step...mummification!

Our GT kids had JUST started a new duckling project before all this wild winter hit...we did a recon and brought the incubator home and low and behold, against all odds (zero humidity for a few days 😖😳), we have 7 viable, growing embryos!!!
GT kiddos worked hard on some appreciation ornament gifts...love how they turned out and loved their joy in giving back!
