Here’s some more free pet hacks natural and clean!
🐕‍🦺 Wash Bandit’s blankets. Dog bedding may be the smelliest part of the house because she is constantly rolling around in it. Thieves® Laundry Soap is plant based and leaves no chemical or synthetic residue, so it’s safe for pets.
🐶Vacuum dog beds. If your mutt’s mattress doesn’t come with a removable, washable covering, vacuum up hair and dander on a weekly basis. Use an attachment to get into the seams and corners. But really, if removal is possible, throw the bed’s cover in the wash with the blankets.
🧼Wipe down the crate. Wipe down the crate inside and out with a damp rag and this DIY cleaner packed with extra deodorizing power, thanks to white vinegar.
1 capful Thieves® Household Cleaner
1/2 cup white vinegar
3 cups water
5 drops Purification
Combine all ingredients in a spray bottle. Spray liberally inside and outside the crate and wipe with a clean cloth.

IS THIEVES HOUSEHOLD CLEANER SAFE FOR DOGS?
🧺Thieves Household Cleaner can do just about everything, but is it safe for furry friends? Yes! When used as directed, it is A-Okay to use around cute and cuddly canines!
Food and water bowls.
Give Chief clean dishes! Wash and dry all bowls and food stands once a week following manufacturer directions. Remember to wipe down their placemat while you’re at it.
🧼Remember the little things. Collars and leashes can harbor stink too. Fill a sink with warm water and a small amount of gentle soap like Animal Scents® Shampoo or Thieves® Household Cleaner. Let the collar and leash soak for 10 minutes, then gently rub it together to remove any stains (avoid using a scrub brush, as it may damage the collar). Rinse and lay flat to dry. Finish with a drop of Animal Scents® ParaGize™ on the collar for an ongoing fresh scent.
🧹Sweep well and mop with a strong solution. Sweep every nook and cranny often to pick up the dirt, hair, and dander your pet tracks through the house; then use a pet-safe cleaner (Thieves to the rescue again!) to mop the floors. For tile and laminate floors, mix up this recipe in your mop bucket:
1 tablespoon dish soap
1 capful Thieves Household Cleaner
1 cup white vinegar
1 gallon warm water
For wood floors, omit the dish soap and add 2 tablespoons of grapeseed oil

Working at a hospital during a pandemic and being a huge hiker and adventurer, you can BET my car has seen some messy messes.
So let’s talk about how to clean the car, with nontoxic cleaner that WORK and also leaves my car not feeling like a toxic hot box.

Mix 2 drops of Thieves Household Cleaner with 2 cups of water in a spray bottle.
Spray plastic and fabric lightly and wipe with a soft cloth.

Back to the bathroom, let’s chat more about toxins in our homes...
Brace yourself—manufacturers aren’t even legally required to list all ingredients. It sounds crazy, but toxic ingredients could be lingering in your laundry detergents and floor cleaners without you knowing about it.
For example, some products such as carpet cleaners and dishwasher liquid release VOCs—volatile organic compounds. Experts say that some VOCs can irritate eyes, nose, and throat; create difficulty breathing and nausea; and cause harm to the central nervous system and other organs.
At Young Living, we’re incredibly meticulous about which ingredients we bring into the YL family.
THAT’S AWESOME! HOW DO I CLEAN WITHOUT HARSH CHEMICALS?.
The simplest way to get the job done—check the labels. Products can be greenwashed, meaning they have packaging that advertises as “green” or “natural” but sneak unwelcome ingredients into their formulas. Yuck!
It’s also important to remember that these issues don’t solely apply to the cleaning aisle.
When shopping for candles and air fresheners, avoid these factory-crafted temptations. Instead, mix and match essential oils and diffuse them for personal, unique household aromas.
Ultimately, if you can find companies and products with the mission to use from-the-earth, not-harmful, naturally derived ingredients, you’re golden. May we recommend Young Living? *wink, wink*
So you think it's going to be really expensive to make the switch to Thieves Household Cleaner. You might want to think again. The greenwashed cleaners that actually still contain harmful ingredients cost far more!
One last bathroom cleaning hack...
Prevent shower soap scum:
Get rid of water droplets!
In a spray bottle, mix the following:
½ capful Thieves Household Cleaner
10 drops Tea Tree essential oil
4 cups water
Spray shower walls and door daily.
Squeegee excess off.

Let’s move on to the bathroom, one of our favorite but also smelliest and dirtiest parts of the home...Thieves has you here too. I use my thieves in the bathroom but double the dose (x2 capfuls) here’s a few hacks to get you motivated...
If you’re like me, there are about a million things you’d rather do than clean your bathroom. Between the germs, dirt, and noxious chemicals, it quickly becomes a task to delegate to a roommate, spouse, or kid old enough to wield a toilet wand.
Enter Thieves Household Cleaner
With these cleaning hacks, you can replace the harsh chemicals with this powerful, safe cleaner and make scrubbing down every bathroom surface a little more bearable.
And seriously, they work! Even for a bathroom hating cleaner like me! Here are a few of my favorite ways to deep clean my bathroom.
🛁 The Bathtub:
Make a thick paste with Thieves household cleaner and baking soda (or mix your Thieves dishwasher detergent with Thieves cleaner--it makes an amazing paste!!). Apply to tub and scrub with a clean, soft cloth or sponge. Let sit 5 minutes and rinse clean.
🚰 Sink and Counter:
Combine 3 cups of water and 1 capful Thieves household cleaner in a spray bottle. Spray surfaces liberally with solution and wipe clean.
🧴🧽Mirrors and Glass:
Combine 3 cups of water, 5 drops of Citrus Fresh, 1 teaspoon white vinegar, and 1 capful Thieves Household Cleaner in a spray bottle. Spray mirrors liberally with solution and wipe clean with a lint-free cloth. It's amazing!! No streaks!
🚽 Toilet:
Combine 1 cup of water and 1 capful Thieves household cleaner in a spray bottle. Spray the toilet bowl liberally, let sit for 15 minutes, then scrub with a brush. Flush to rinse. Wipe down the seat and out surfaces with Thieves wipes. And for a deeper clean, use the same paste as listed above under "bathtub."
Happy Cleaning!

Grab a cup and let’s chat about key words we should be looking out for in our products.
According to the American Lung Association, the ingredients in most commercial solutions, sprays, and scrubs can:
• Be air pollutants
• Be harmful chemicals
• Be flammable or corrosive
• Irritate eyes or throat
• Cause headaches
• Contribute to health problems like chronic respiratory problems and allergic reactions
Not only are these ingredients problematic, but they’re pretty far from your “let’s go green!” goals. Choosing cleaners with naturally derived ingredients is a win for you and a win for Mother Earth.
Brace yourself—manufacturers aren’t even legally required to list all ingredients. Toxic ingredients could be lingering in your laundry detergents and floor cleaners without you knowing about it.
For example, some products such as carpet cleaners and dishwasher liquid release VOCs—volatile organic compounds. Experts say that some VOCs can irritate eyes, nose, and throat; create difficulty breathing and nausea; and cause harm to the central nervous system and other organs.
And the list of KEY players you should be watching out for in all your products:
+Fragrance:
Short term toxicity can include coughing, skin irritation, rash, wheezing, headaches, nausea, vomiting, and irritability. Long term toxicity can include cancer, lung disease, heart disease and reproductive disorders.
Found in: scented candles, perfumes, lotions, and more
+Triclosan:
Used in many formulations as an antibacterial agent to prevent or reduce bacterial contamination and registered as a pesticide by the EPA. Topical absorption of triclosan has shown disturbances to the endocrine system, and is believed to lead to birth defects and uncontrollable cell growth
Found in: soaps, deodorants, cosmetics, shave gel, first aid spray, kitchenware and children’s toys.

+Phthalates:
A low cost endocrine disrupting chemical that in lab studies has shown to interfere with hormone production in rats and mimic estrogen in human studies.
Found in: plastic food packaging, lotions, skin moisturizers, fragrance, cleaners, glues and nail polish.

You’re probably wonder WHAT exactly you should be looking for in your cleaner and what you should be on the look out to make sure ISN’T in there.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When consumers buy commercial cleaning products, we expect them to do one thing: clean!
But while the chemicals in cleaners foam, bleach, and disinfect to make our dishes, bathtubs and countertops gleaming and germ-free, many also contribute to indoor air pollution, are poisonous if ingested, and can be harmful if inhaled or touched.
In fact, some cleaners are among the most toxic products found in the home. Small children in the house? I’m sure one of the biggest fears as a mom is your kids getting into the cleaning cabinet.
Cleaning ingredients vary in the type of health hazard they pose. Some cause acute, or immediate, hazards such as skin or respiratory irritation, watery eyes, or chemical burns, while others are associated with chronic, or long-term, effects such as cancer.
The most acutely dangerous cleaning products are corrosive drain cleaners, oven cleaners, and acidic toilet bowl cleaners,. Ingredients with high acute toxicity include chlorine bleach and ammonia, which produce fumes that are highly irritating to eyes, nose, throat and lungs, and should not be used by people with asthma or lung or heart problems.
Four main words to look out for are...
1️⃣- Fragrance
2️⃣-Triclosan
3️⃣-Phthalates
4️⃣-Formaldehyde
I’ll be going more in depth about these tomorrow and sharing a few apps and tools to make this process easier. This can be very overwhelming to suddenly see so many toxic products and chemicals in our home and it can start as a slow and gradual process to switch out the bad for good.
Let’s do this together!

Here’s some super simple and clean cleaning hacks for the kitchen, you ready??
Here are some easy swaps I’ve made to clean up my kitchen routine!
Sink Soft Scrub
Rinse your sink with water and add in the following:
-a sq**rt of Thieves dish soap
-half a cap of Thieves cleaner
-3 drops Young Living Lemon Essential Oil
-3 tbsp baking soda.
-Work in a circular motion all throughout the sink basin. With a sponge, scrub brush or towel, work into the plastic opening to the disposal (try to get the underside of the plastic, it's nasty there, y'all). Rinse well, and dry with a towel.
Disposal Bomb
-Put 5 drops Purification Essential Oil
-5 drops Lemon Essential Oil
-2 tbsps baking soda into disposal
-Run water lightly, turn on disposal! Once finished add 2 more drops of Purification whenever needed. Stink be GONE!
Stink Free Sponges & Dish Cloths
Super simple, but worth mentioning. I always rinse my sponges out well with Thieves dish soap and hot water, squeeze excess water and the spray with Thieves Cleaner, spray dish cloths with Thieves Cleaner after every use!
Ants be gone! 🐜❌
Nothing can make you feel the creepy-crawlies faster than when you see a line of ants in your scurrying about your kitchen. When ants show up indoors, use this spray to get rid of them quickly (I also love to spritz this around my windows and exterior door frames once per week!).
Ants-Be-Gone Spray Recipe
-15 drops Peppermint Essential Oil
-5 drops Citronella Essential Oil
-5 drops Lavender Essential Oil
-3 ounces of water
Pinch of salt (to help disperse oils).
Combine in a spray bottle, shake and apply where needed.

Thieves Household Cleaner, a how to...don’t worry this is super simple which is another reason I love this product. It makes cleaning so much easier than worrying about mixing bleach and ammonia 🤢 .
It is safe to use at a 15:1 dilution or higher for most non-porous surfaces. One capful of Thieves Household Cleaner is equal to approximately ½ tablespoon, so ½ cup of water mixed with one capful of cleaner yields a 15:1 dilution.
Most cleaning applications use 30 parts water to 1 part Thieves Household Cleaner—more concentrated dilutions may be necessary for some uses.
For best results, mix only the amount of cleaner that you will need to use right away.
Before using Thieves Household Cleaner, do a small spot test in an inconspicuous location, especially on wood, plastic, fabric, and granite.
‼️Do not use this product on soft plastics or vinyl‼️
Each 14.4 fl oz bottle makes 60-65 bottles of cleaner 😱😱😱

What is Ditching and Switching ? 🧐
Ditching and switching is basically transferring over from one group of toxic products 💀 to something more clean and sustainable 🌱. Basically, it’s removing those toxic products for something less toxic or nontoxic.
This can seem like a huge MOUNTAIN to climb when we first start thinking about this process and all of the daily products we use and what’s actually lurking within them. But, I want to keep things simple.
The easiest way to do this is to slowly start transfer buying. This means moving the things in your budget for say household cleaners and replacing ❌ product with something better. Most of my products now come directly from Young Living, or I make my own or don’t even use certain items any more. Most of Young Living’s cleaning line comes concentrated and will actually SAVE you money and benefit your overall wellbeing.
Don’t get caught up in the need to replace everything at once! This can begin by looking a little like this:
April:
❌Ditch your house hold cleaners ➡️ Thieves Household Concentrated Cleaner
May:
❌Ditch your laundry Detergent ➡️ Thieves Laundry Soap, Dryer balls, Laundry Booster
June:
❌Ditch your Face Lotion and Deodorant ➡️ Glow Serum and oils/all natural deodorant
And if you don’t know where to start being here is a perfect place. There’s a lot to go over and learn and I’m happy to explore all of that with you! Stay tune throughout this month for posts on all of the above. And get your budgets out you’ll wanna pencil in some of this goodness.

March is almost over, so what’s next?
So much is happening in April this month, but I want to end March sharing something important.
We are the sole gatekeepers to our homes and our bodies. What does that mean? It means we decide what products we use, how much plastic we waste, our environmental footprint, and the toxins we allow in and out of ourselves and the place we call home.
It’s an overwhelming thought to begin this but next month I’m giving you the tools to begin changing your lifestyle and ultimately your life.
I want more sunrises like this, I want more snow for years to come, I want to make an impact on this earth that will help generations to come. But let’s start small, all you need to do is follow along. I’m going to give you all the tools you need to just S T A R T.

Where do you find JOY?
I want to set straight is that joy is not happiness. Happiness is not a grounded emotional, it’s temporary, and not continuous.
But Joy, joy comes from a place deep within. It’s that ability to be ok during hard times. Joy shines in the dark because it comes from not temporary things but a sense of deep gratitude. It sees the best in the worst. It keeps us rooted to the source.
The oil joy bring a sense of confidence and love. It can help release emotions blocking love and self love. And according to Chinese medicine can help to release grief and sorrow that gets stuck in the heart and lungs.
My joy, I get from being on top of big mountains, from being in nature in places where I feel small. I get joy from being in good company, getting hugs from loved ones, and small acts of kindness. And most of all I find joy rooted in God and a place I know will be constant. Where do you find your joy?

What makes an Essential Oil photosensitive?
As the weather begins to get nicer out and we’re outside in the sun more I wanted to make this post to remind you how to best use your oils.
Citrus oils are the most common EO that causes photosensitivity, why? Because the compounds found in them, furanocoumarins, greatly increase UV sensitivity.
How to know if your oil is photosensitive?
They are all labeled by Young Living:
Lemon, Lime, Grapefruit, Orange, Bergamot, Tangerine, Peace and Calming, Stress Away, Citrus Fresh, Gentle Baby and Joy are some popular ones
Best ways to avoid any reaction?
Use photosensitive oils at nighttime, add to nightly skincare, evening body wash or lotion, bed time bath or apply topically
Cover application areas by applying to back, lower chest, temples and cover up. Make sure the area is covered well with heavy or tightly knitted material
Following the label instructions is the best way to avoid negative reactions. Most undiluted photosensative oils require 12 hours before sun exposure but a few can be up to 48 hours .
And if you happen to end up having a reaction here is what YL suggests :
Skin reaction: immediately wash with cold water and soap, rinse thoroughly, dilute and rinse skin with vegetable oil to dilute the EO
Eye reaction: rinse opened eye for several minutes under running water, and apply vegetable oil with sterile cloth around the eye to dilute any excess essential oil
Your best bet for safety? Read your labels. Now go have some fun in the sun.

So what’s the difference? And why should I care? 👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼 keep reading.
Stress vs. Stressor
🔸Stressors activate the stress response in the body
-anything hear, see, smell, touch, taste, or imagine can do you harm
🔺External stressors: work, money, family, time, cultural norms, expectations, experiences of discrimination etc.
🔻Internal Stressors: self-criticism,body image, identity, memories, and the future
The body can interpret all of these things as threats to iself aka the stressor.
🤯 Stress: neurological and physiological shift that happens in the body when one encounters said threat.
This activates the stress response, a flow of neurological and hormonal activity that begins the changes to help one survive. AKA the fight or flight cascade.
🏋️‍♀️ Epinephrine (adrenal) increases blood pressure and heart rate
🍕glucocorticoids (steroids) keep you going and increases glucose consumption to give the body energy to fight or flight
🏃🏻‍♀️ endorphins to ignore all the uncomfortable things happening
❌Blood flow shifts to important organs (heart, lungs, muscles) vs. the not so important ones (GI, immune function)
This response changes your entire body and mind 😳

I love being creative.
Something this pandemic taught me is to stop being afraid of new things. Life is constantly changing and it’s way too short to not TRY.
I’ve stopped waiting for my paychecks to be enough, stopped waiting for dreams to come true, stopped waiting to be the best before sharing my journey with people.
I’ve been dying to start trying to wood burn and some big fails but some amazing wins! So keep pushing friends.
I am giving two of these away if you sign up with YL. Aren’t they beautiful?? @ Minnewaska State Park

Overwhelmed much? I am.
Yesterday I realized I booked myself to do something almost every single hour of the day. By 5 pm I was exhausted from talking and extending myself with little time for me.
I love humans and I love connecting with people but when I fail to connect with myself it becomes way too much. I think we often have these expectations to do all the things in 24 hrs.
I’m so guilty for trying to cram everything into a day, and then feeling totally exhausted and drained after. And I wonder why I’m experiencing burn out at work, I’m not taking any time for myself when I’m home.
If this is you don’t fear. The first step in overcoming the overbooked is becoming aware that you are doing it. That was me yesterday. And now as I move forward I realized I can’t just book myself for the entire day, or if I do I need to schedule time for me to just be me. Whether that’s an hour for working out, and hour for a nap, an hour to read your fav book, book it and don’t feel guilty about taking time for yourself.
As givers it’s a classic thing to want to keep giving and giving but it’s actually counter productive. So give yourself some love today.
