This is a message from Lind Black Elk
She has been in the front lines of COVID-19 for many months here is a great detailed list of what goes into the boxes they give out to families tested positive.
We don’t have some of these foods or medicine.. Eat traditional foods amd medicine from your traditional territories. Fish broths are excellent medicine.
She is a herbalist and you can follow her on Facebook for lots of great posts.
Facebook post by Linda:
This is an incredibly long post because I’m including as many recipes as possible and specific lists of herbs and foods. Thank you to my sisters for inspiring these lists and sharing all the ways they are taking caring of the people. There are too many people to name.

In the last three days, we have had more requests for food and medicine than we had at the (first) height of the pandemic. Right now, we are struggling to keep up with demand, as are so many of our friends and colleagues who have been making food and medicine for their communities. We are driving over thousands of miles to make deliveries. We are trying to keep our families safe and sane. We are doing our best. I know you are all doing your best, too.
Whether you are getting medicine together for friends, family, acquaintances, or strangers ... remember that you don’t have to over-complicate things. Healing is for everyone! Keep it simple. Make sure that prayer is part of everything you get together. I’m sure I’ve forgotten stuff, so let me know if you want me to add things.
MEDICINE KITS:
If you want to make your own medicine kits, here are a few things you can include (at various levels of difficulty in acquisition). I’ve included recipes and lists of herbs....
❤️ Simple store bought kit:
Vitamin D3
Vitamin C
Zinc
Green Tea
Melatonin
Baby aspirin
❤️ More advanced kit:
***Elderberry elixir (here’s a recipe:)
1c elderberries
3c water
2 star anise
1 cinnamon stick
2 whole cloves
1 3” piece fresh ginger
Bring all of this to a boil and then let it simmer for about 45 min on medium. Once it it nice and dark and strong, pour it through some cheese cloth or any material to strain it, squeezing all the juice out. Add 1 1/2 cups of raw honey ...let the honey melt in to the juice...don’t reheat it or you’ll destroy all the good medicine in the honey. Store in jars in the fridge.
***Fire cider (here’s a recipe):
To a pint jar add:
1TB black peppercorns
1/2 an onion
1/2 bulb of garlic
1 thumb ginger
1 thumb turmeric
1 thumb horseradish
1 fresh jalapeño
2 dried Thai chilies
1/2 fresh lemon with skins on
Pour in enough raw apple cider vinegar to fill the jar, close it up, and let it sit is a cool, dark spot for at least two weeks. (I’ve let it sit for two years). Strain it and add raw honey to taste.
***Anti-inflammatory tea blend (choose from): nettles, willow bark, turmeric, garlic, onion, chilies, ginger, devils claw, rosemary, oregano, thyme, green tea, pine needles, cloves, cinnamon ... mushrooms including reishi, turkey tail, and chaga
***Lung support tea blend: mullein, elecampane, wild cherry bark, narrowleaf plantain, licorice root, goldenseal, mint, bear root (osha), lovage, astragalus, curlycup gumweed (grindelia), or NAC powder
***Immune support tea blend: rose hips, elderberry, elderflower, dandelion, echinacea, burdock root, andrographis, ashwaganda, monarda, tulsi
***Blood vessel builder tea blend: hawthorn, yarrow, bilberry, blueberry, huckleberry, rose hips
***Anti viral tea blend: elderberry, elderflower, lemon balm, catnip, monarda, wormwood/sweet annie, prunella, hyssop, rhubarb root
***Depression, Anxiety, and insomnia tea blend: blue vervain, valerian, hops, linden, passionflower, skullcap, milky oats, chamomile, tulsi
***Infused honey: mix raw honey with powdered chaga, bear root, reishi, and/or turkey tail
***Chest balm (here’s a recipe):
2 cup olive oil, sunflower oil, or bear grease
1/4 cup cedar
1/4 cup bear root
1/4 cup bitterroot
1/4 juniper berries
Put all of the above in a crock pot on warm setting for 2-4 hours. Turn off heat and let sit over night. In the morning, strain out the herbs. Reheat the oil and add 2 ounces melted beeswax. (You may also add some essential oils such as eucalyptus, mint, camphor, menthol, cedar, and lovage.) Pour in to jars or tins and let set before covering.
***Medicinal Steams: cedar, mint, eucalyptus, grindelia
❤️ Even more advanced kit:
***Medicine soup or medicine soup kit
Fresh or dried meat, beans, dried corn, wild rice, garlic, onion, chilies, ginger, turmeric, celery, carrot, thyme, rosemary, bay leaf, dried cabbage or kale
***Prepared teas in jars (see above recommendations)
***Simple Sauerkraut:
2 medium heads of fresh cabbage (red, green, it doesn’t matter)
1/4 cup kosher sea salt
Glass jars with tight lids
Chop the cabbage as desired. Cover with the salt and mix in, grinding the salt in to the cabbage with your hand. Stuff as tightly as possible into jars and seal. I keep them on the kitchen counter for a few days to speed up the fermentation process. If you like things with more flavor, add a couple tablespoons of caraway seeds, some chopped jalapeño, a couple of friend red chilies, or some whole garlic cloves.
***Easy Napa cabbage and Daikon Kimchi
2 pounds Napa cabbage cut in to bite size pieces
1/2 pound daikon radish (cut as desired, I like half moons)
1/4 cup sea salt
Salt the cabbage and daikon. The key is to let the salt release most of the water from the vegetables...it might take 2-3 hours. Drain well.
Then mix together:
3 TB garlic minced
2 tsp ginger minced
1/2 cup chopped green onion
2 TB salted shrimp or fish sauce (optional, I do not use this bc I don’t like it) sometimes I’ll add a little soy sauce instead.
3-8 TB kimchi pepper powder, depending on how spicy you want it.
Enough water to make a paste (maybe 3-4 TB)
Mix the above ingredients into a thick, but not dry, paste. Mix it in to the salted cabbage/daikon mixture. Stuff as tightly as possible into clean glass jars. Leave them out to ferment.

I know that this page hasn’t been used as much. I meant to put together a group page but accidentally made a page instead.
But this was made with the intention to share knowledge about this virus that is devastating our communities. Between our nations. Our relatives down south have had more experience and have put together these resources that they have shared with me. I will be posting on this page what I can share.
We can get through this together.
I know it is scary and overwhelming. My family was rocked to the core when we lost our matriarch recently from Covid. Our other families that tested positive have recovered. There is so much fear. This knowledge has grounded me and I know we can heal ourselves. I know some.. others know more.. together we will get through this.
Much love to you all
This is an incredible resource put together by some knowledge plant people..
They put this together so we can use to help each other..

Post from Pura Fe
A big pot of boiling water with drops of Tea Tree Oil or Eucalyptus Oil or Camphor Oil or even Vicks in it for breathing in. After Boil....then take a Towel over your head to trap that steam and breath in through your nostrils and breath out of mouth. Do it with long long breaths to get into lungs and breath out long long through mouth. Repeat about 30 times...and hold your breath for as long as possible. Repeat this at least 3X's. And do it at least 3 or 4 times a day.
((Precaution!! Cats and Dogs get sick from these oils. Don't let them get it into their system))
It is important to keep your own breathing circulation moving...so you do not have to depend on any resperater or any machines. Try to make your own body do it's work. And stretch and do movements swinging your arms around and twist to bring up and phlem you may have. The medicine in the water does kill bacteria.
At night time...sleeping with a vaporizer that also has those drops of oil in it is good.
If you cannot get a a vaporizer...and maybe you can get a hot plate and hopefully you can plug in somewhere. (I remember hard times) put a pot of water next to you when you sleep. If you cannot get any of these oils...I heard of a Dr. in Italy who is curing people by putting GINGER in the boiling water and towel over their heads and breathing in. I thought of Chili powder.
One last thing is to boil cedar for the air...
If you can get yourself into a sweat lodge or sauna, that is even better.
People can individually go into a sweat. Maybe someone can build you a tiny one just for one. You won't need lots of rocks. Also put Tea Tree oil in the water to pour on rocks. Placing Copal is amazing for the rocks.
DRINK...
Any kind of "PINE SAP" will help draw out mucous from your lungs.
If you can get to a Pine Tree and carve the hard sap that is usually dried dripping and stuck to its trunk. Carve that off...and use that to boil and drink hot. It is strong like turpentine!!
Mullen leaves you can buy in health food store. The season to pick it wild is not in the winter...ofcorse.
Mullen also draws mucous out of the lungs. Our people used to smoke it for this purpose....or drink it's Tea from the leaves. I was taught to Never boil leaves....only Steap them and Boil Roots.and Bark. That is the general rule. There might be some acceptions.
LEMON AND LIME JUICE!! VITAMIN C!! SQUEEZE YOUR CITRUS AND ADD WATER AND DRINK.
CRUSH VITAMIN C VITAMINS TOO AND ADD THEM TO WATER TO DRINK. LOTS...LOTS!! EVERYDAY.
Spoonful of extra virgin Olive Oil in the morning first thing and then drink you Lemon and or Lime Juice...every morning!! And do it before you sleep.
I hope this helps...
I did once post about house sauna/sweats that are made under kitchen tables with blankets making a tent. And baking your rocks in the oven in a pan till rocks are hot as can be.
Small rocks like a fist size.
Then transfering them into a tall pot that you can slide under your table tent.
Becareful not to burn your floor and place maybe a flat piece of wood under your pot to slide into your tent. You might want to sit or lay down on a blanket too. Get your long handle dipper and another pot of water that has Tea Tree oil or the Eucalyptus Oil or Camphor oil or Vicks. Pour that over your rocks and sit in there and just do those breathing techniques. And if you are into guided meditation/prayer.... Hey!! This is a great house hold old time way to do it. Lots of urban Bush people's did and still do this. When you come out...keep warm. Cover your head and entire body... Be aware of your breathing. Breathing deeply can heal and correct many dysfunctions in your system. It is key to all health...mental physical and spirit.
Last thing...
Years ago I had walking neumonia.
My cousin who is a Scientist came and had Vicks and his girlfriend. The 2 of them rubbed that Vicks on my back and chest and then they stretched my whole body. I was in so much pain. Like they were contorting my legs and arms and twisting me limbs and omg... But all the mucous was coming out. Then they wrapped me up like a big bee hive of blankets. Then I had to drink the hottest tea. I spit out all of that phlem and was walking the next day.
The key is to move vigorously and breath deep vigorously and menthol and those type of medicines kill bacteria. Breath!! Deep.
Drink good hot tea. And keep your house air environment clean of toxic chemicals.

Immune & Respiratory Herbs and Herbal Support During the COVID-19 Outbreak – Urban Indian Health Institute A Resource for Tribal Communities During the COVID-19 outbreak
I accidentally changed the name to mine. 😩 will change once I figure how.
This page was created after a group discussion on messenger about how our communities are dealing with COVID at this time. I reached out to my circle of friends, who are harvesters, medicine people, healers, community leaders as my family and the nuuchahnulth nation are currently getting this virus rapidly. I know that my friends from the south have been dealing with this a lot longer and have good advice, resources and experience to share. This is also a safe place for us to connect to others who are on the frontlines in their own territories and need guidance and support. I will share some of the fabulous resources that were shared in this discussion group on here.
This is a private group and if anyone else would like to be an admin I would greatly appreciate it as I am not to tech savvy.
You are all brilliant humans that I admire and know you are on the frontlines of many battles. This is a new one and we need to arm ourselves with everything we got. Thank you for joining this further dialogue.
