London Songwriter Murray Webster crafts engaging and catchy Pop/Rock drawn from personal experience
RIP Marlena Shaw - for 2 years I used to regularly perform a 3 minute guitar solo over a slower version of this track back in the day ☺ I will do so again at some point! ☺

Thank you so much to all of you who wished me a Happy Birthday yesterday, very appreciated. I hope the coming year is fantastic for you all! 🙂
Hello folks, very happy to have a new release out today on Bandcamp! 🙂 Simple Heart was written to a wonderfully cinematic lyric by Australian singer Natalie Reiss and it was originally produced at Arcadium Studios by Sam Kennedy who has collaborated with Foxes and Ed Sheeran amongst others. AI Remix by yours truly.

I have a new release today. I wrote Get Better as a catchy Pop/Rock pep talk to myself and a reminder to just keep going in the face of discouragements.
I had this version recorded by a top Nashville female session vocalist. It was pitched to Disney and I was told it made the short list - maybe it did!

I have a new release today ☺ She's Already Gone is a companion piece to last month's. Evening Sun, having been recorded at the same time in the studio at Bath Spa with a very live-sounding band.
It's another song about loss with a sensitive country/folk vibe. Sony artist & Nashville staff writer Andy West who designed the world's first Songwriting Master's Degree at Bath Spa liked it so much he requested to sing it, an honour I gratefully accepted. Enjoy. Hello folks, I have a new track out today on Bandcamp. Evening Sun is a poignant and powerful country/folk ballad recorded at Bath Spa featuring the beautiful voice of Cecilia Le Poer Power.

First visit to Liverpool this weekend - it amazed me that The Beatles played The Cavern Club 292 times between 1961 & 1963 - extraordinary! And I truly wish live venues all the best in the current climate ☺
Tomorrow, Saturday, I will mostly be in Ealing promoting London Songwriters Artists with my Blue Dansette, now excellently refurbed by Ian Russell ☺
I will have copies of my 7" Single of the same name (also available online at the link below) ☺
I do think Marvin Gaye must have spent some time in the area in the early 1980s, inspiring one of his greatest hits ☺
Steve & Gloria Holmes sell wonderful vinyl & CDs, so pop in if you are around! Be good to see y'all ☺
'The Child I Never Knew' shows the personal Introspective Folk side of my writing.
It's beautifully sung by London Songwriter Jennifer Lee Ridley, who also wrote a sympathetic flute & string quartet arrangement to accompany my classical guitar.

Some Satisfying Sublime Soul from Hi Records 1973 - 'Have You Been Making Out OK' penned by Green is probably my fave track ☺
Today is the anniversary of Dusty Springfield’s passing in 1999 & I was only just listening to this the other day – 20 tracks of incredible music. The b-side of my single ‘Tell Me It’s You’ is influenced by this track along with half a dozen other 60s hits as is ‘Blue Dansette’ itself
Love by Aztec Camera 1987 – listened to it all on Vinyl yesterday for the first time in decades, probably my fave from the 80s and apt for today! ☺
Hi all, here is the official video for Blue Dansette! Best enjoyed in Full screen Wide screen Split screen! ☺
Follow my page links for EP streaming, download and 7" Vinyl options ☺ 🎸
It's a great day to grab a stylish 7"vinyl copy of Blue Dansette over at Bandcamp Friday! James played his & said 'sounds absolutely brilliant on vinyl & the sleeve is a work of art' ☺ Link is in the image

Wonderful day at Abbey Road’s 90th Birthday Bash yesterday – Amazing to be in the ‘Beatles’ Studio Two where the sounds that influenced me & countless others were made, chat with the engineers & hand them my mono 7” single with Fab4 pastiche ‘Tell Me It’s You’ to listen to! ☺
After months of delays at the pressing plant the Limited Edition Mono 7” Vinyl of ‘Blue Dansette’ b/w ‘Tell Me It’s You’ is now shipping! ☺ Link in image
This is a photo from 1979 outside my folks house in Blackheath, London with my 1969 Mini & 1975 Rickenbacker 480 - can you tell which bands I might have liked? ☺

The full EP 'Blue Dansette' is out today! The EP tells a musical story from 60s pop (Blue Dansette) through to 80s Rock (Whiskey A-Go-Go) via 70s New Wave Punk (Summer's Day!) with a Beatles pastiche in there too (Tell Me It's You), all accompanied by an ongoing blog. Bandcamp Friday is a great day to support independent artists! - https://music.murraywebstersongs.com/releases
