Welcome to DIY OF NYC ❤ I wanted to show you guys, that you can wear these pieces more than one way. In my last post I've paired an upcycled long sleeve button down crop top to go with the bralette and shorts.

Fashionistas ❤ Welcome to DIY OF NYC ❤ Planning a trip and need some summer ideas? You're in the right place, I have some pattern links for you guys to create this same look. Who said you can't wear pajamas outside 👀 I created this look using two men's button up shirts, they were $5.00 each. I started with the shorts pattern first, then I used the Bralette top pattern next and whatever was leftover in the second shirt to make a top (make sure it's enough to cover your b***s). I used an 1/2 inch elastic band, measure yourself to see where you want the elastic band to sit on you, you want it snug but not too loose. Lay the shirt down, and at the bottom pin the elastic to each side of the shirt, make sure you have enough seam allowance to cover the elastic band. Stitch the ends first to keep the elastic in place, then go back and stitch down your seam allowance (be careful not to stitch through the elastic). I used a straight stitch. P.S. I have alternatives for my non sewers, but for some reason I can't add it here. This platform will be a place where you can have fun dressing up, all while changing the world. I believe sustainable fashion is very important right now than ever before. The landfill receives 92 million tons of textile waste a year, that means only 15% goes to charities or donated.

The best ways to help are upcycling your clothing, sewing your own clothing, buying secondhand or seeing if anyone has things they want to give away.

This will give your wardrobe a fresh look and still be in season.

I'm excited to see where this will go, I've been working on this for a long time now. I feel ready and I would like to thank you for taking the time to read this. ❤❤❤❤
