Academy of Dover Charter School
Good morning Academy Families,
We realize this is not an easy time, and we are all quickly having to adapt to new ways of doing things. Our Academy Team has been working diligently to make it easier for you to access the learning materials from home. WE are HERE FOR YOU! We are all still working--just from different locations--the same as many of you are doing. We applaud those of you who are first res ponders, and can't thank you enough for the dedication you are showing to the health and safety of our area at this time. We know that each family has different challenges--some of you are still having to work outside the home, some of you have many children to care for, some of you are trying to balance working from home, caring for your children, and also helping to facilitate the academics. None of this is easy. Many of us are in the exact same position. Together we will get through this. If there's something our Academy can do to better support you, please let us know. If you need more support, we will provide it. If your child needs more time, let us know. If you child doesn't understand something, reach out to the educator.
Two weeks ago we provided packets of learning for our children. The packets were intended to last for three weeks. Since then, our Governor and Secretary of Education have instructed all schools in Delaware to offer remote learning to all students. As a result, our educators have worked to create Google Classrooms. This will allow for us to continue to educate our students. We are still the educators--we are still here--we want to remain as involved as we possibly can. Our educators are available by email, telephone, video chat, messaging on Class Dojo, and many other ways. Together we can do this! The below two images show you additional information on accessing the Remote Learning tools, including step by step directions to getting to your child's Google Classroom.
Thank you for working with us as we navigate a new way to provide remote education to our Academy of Learners...

Today, we launched Delaware Housing Assistance Program to help to renters affected by shutdowns, closures, layoffs, reduced work hours, or unpaid leave due to COVID-19. The Delaware State Housing Authority (DSHA) program will provide eligible households up to $1,500 in assistance, with payments made directly to the property owner or utility company.
From restaurant workers and small business owners, to hair stylists and barbers, we know many Delawareans are facing a very challenging time as they struggle with the economic effects of the public health emergency.
We hope this assistance program will give Delaware families, especially our most vulnerable neighbors, some peace of mind as this situation continues to evolve.
