This will apply to all journeys starting and ending in RCT council catchment ✅

Whilst we warmly welcome this intervention, a £2 bus fare cap has been in operation in England continuously since January 2022…..

We really need to improve bus services to make it a viable alternative option for residents, especially as we will see little to no benefit from the South Wales Metro project 🚂

When our Labour council made the short sighted decision to stop discretionary Home to School Transport for over 400 pupils in our community from September 2025, our team vowed to continue to do all we could to support residents and highlight their concerns 🥀

We are really proud to be supporting Save the free school transport in RCT group, run by parents fighting this decision.

Even if free school transport is currently provided, from September 2025 it will be removed if you fall into the above criteria 👍🏻

Some really positive developments today regarding our campaign against overdevelopment in Llantwit Fardre and Efail Isaf.

Such scathing comments from the Welsh Government regarding Rhondda Cynon Taf Council's LDP - hopefully they'll pull the proposals.

❌ 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗸 𝗶𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗲. The land (in part) is located within Flood Zone 3 where highly vulnerable development, which includes residential units, is not considered acceptable and where plan allocations must not be made. National policy on flood risk is clear in this respect and does not support this key allocation in a National Growth Area. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗬𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗱 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝘄𝗶𝗴 𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗹𝘆 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿, 𝗶𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗶𝘁 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘄.

❌ There also appears to be a misalignment between the strategy and the Councils own settlement
hierarchy. KS4 is located in Efail Isaf which is within the lower Tier 3 Smaller Settlements, which the
plan identifies to support to meet local needs. 𝗜𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲-𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗻 𝗞𝗦𝟰 𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗻𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹𝘀 𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗵𝗶𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵𝘆.

Great news for residents and local business, a year after Post Office services ceased in Crown Hill Stores we are delighted to see the service is due to return on:

𝗧𝗵𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝟭𝟰𝘁𝗵 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗮𝘁 𝟭𝟯:𝟬𝟬𝗵𝗿𝘀

We have lost count the number of emails and calls that have been exchanged between us and Post Office, applying pressure to retain these vital local services….

We’d like to thank l Post Office for their open communication and commitment to our community, even if restoration has taken a lot longer than expected….

Rhondda Cynon Taf Council are bracing themselves for the significant impact of Storm ISHA ,as the Met Office has issued an AMBER weather warning for the region.

The storm is forecasted to bring strong winds, reaching up to 80mph with heavy rain throughout Sunday and Monday.

I will be available all weekend should you experiance any issues or need help - or you can call the emergency out of hours hotline shown in the post picture.

We are delighted recent resurfacing works at Murrells Close has been complete after multiple reports from your Conservative councillor team in Llantwit Fardre💙

However, a few snags have been identified that need addressing:

1. Roadsweeper required for Crown Hill Drive
2. Kerb repair temporary - new kerbstone needed

These have been submitted and we will be followed up with Rhondda Cynon Taff Council 👍🏻

Roadworks are likely to cause travel delays for two days. Please can we kindly ask residents to park in neighbouring streets and use alternative routes whilst works take place 🚧

Imagine the savings the council could have achieved if this works had taken place when we first highlighted this issue……

The council will be out and about gritting the network this afternoon and overnight 🚚

Motorists are advised to take extra care during this period and drive according to the weather conditions, allowing extra time for their journeys 🚙

There's not long left to submit responses to Rhondda Cynon Taf Council regarding their plans about school transport.

It will affect thousands of students throughout the County Borough and needs to be opposed.

With the ground already saturated, news of a 𝘆𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝘄𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝟬𝟬:𝟬𝟬𝗵𝗿𝘀 𝗪𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆 is a worry ☔️

I have been to Efail Isaf this morning to check on the lane by Tabernacl Chapel, replacing the cones and moving a few sandbags in preparation for heavy rain. Sandbags have been delivered to Efail Isaf Village Hall too 👍🏻

We are at the scene of a serious incident on Severn Road, Trefforest.
The roads will be closed around the area of Trefforest Industrial Estate and is expected to remain closed for some time.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes where possible. Delays are expected in the area.
