(Kapatagan) - Geric Vingel Perez Cañete tries to keep his cool with the game officials.
In a tie game against Molave, Geric protested a non-call with an especially vocal and demonstrative outburst in the first quarter. He got a technical foul and the switch was flipped.
Geric went on to score a record of 23 pts, 2 rebounds, 4 steals, 7 assists, three pointer Rain C. Ecleo added 19 pts. Point god Lester Andie with 12 points, and Jack Roa aka the Bull with 10 points trashing Molave with a 28 point lead.
Iligan City played without second-leading scorer Joshua Ray Dinglasa (studies), along with the dunker Dan Labado (family matters), and the strong man John Cabilogan (right ankle sprain).
Iligan City is set to play for the championship game tomorrow at 8:30 pm vs. the Kapatagan Lucky Stags .
See you all!
Look!
Another victory for Iligan City on their game 5 yesterday vs. the Kapatagan Lapinig Snipers with a 75 points lead. The team is projected to fight for the championship game this coming Sunday if they'll be able to defeat Molave today at 3:30 pm.
The Iligan team has a strong standing at 5-0, which seemed like a sure win with Molave, however with the absence of the team's power forward Joshua Ray Dinglasa, things might not be the same anymore. "For our team to be able to have the uncertainty I think is important," Head coach Kurt Lariosa explains and sees this as beneficial. "But with Geric ,Andie, Mon players of the game, Iligan will still have the lowest margin for error of any team in the Mindanaone League" says Kurt.

Iligan City Dominates the Mindanaone League games last Sunday June 12, 2022. The team trashed two teams (Sapad & ISBC Iligan) with a stunning scoring performance. Lead by Geric Vingel Perez Cañete and point God Lester Andie Gonzales, Iligan City dominated the scoring board with 4 straight wins.
Jack Roa aka the "bull" took all the centers down with his impressive defense and his "bull" like charge attacks. Rain C. Ecleo was also unforgiving setting the court on fire with his smooth threes. Joshua Ray Dinglasa aka "The Admiral" and Jam Jam dominated the rebounds opening opportunities for fast breaks. Khaliq Macaraya AKA The "Air Bender" defied the odds with his highflying acrobatic drives.
IAI Iligan defeated Sapad with a lead of 31 points , and ISBC Iligan lost from IAI Iligan with 34 points.
The team is now set to play in the finals this week.

ILIGAN CITY TRASHES ZAMBOANGA DEL SUR
IAI Iligan Geric Canete banked 17 PT, 4 Rebounds, 2 steals and 2 assists to give the Iligan team 106-89 victory over the Zamboanga Team on Sunday afternoon.
With the Zamboanga defense draped all over Andie Gonzales and Canete, Long-distance shooters Rain Ecleo and Mon Paran responded with wild threes causing a roaring approval from the fans. The new comer Jack Roa AKA "The Bull" was again unforgiving seizing every moment and putting the Zamboanga centers to where they should belong.
The alley-oop Gods Joshua Dinglasa and Dan Labado were a thing of beauty, setting up a combination of basket cuts and unstoppable alley-oops. The pair created a fun narrative that was incredibly entertaining to watch. These two gods would provide for a high-flying display regardless of who was on the receiving end of the pass.
Unforgiving and communicate. It was special for our team, 'Coach Kurt Lariosa said-the new coach of IAI Iligan. ''We kept battling and prevent from getting in a hole, we have each others back."

Iligan City beats Maranding in Game 1, 97-80, winning their first game in the MindanaOne League.
Led by Geric Vingel Perez Cañete and Lester Andie Gonzales, Iligan's death grip never let up, as they pushed that lead to as much as 17 points, turning a scrappy and indefatigable Maranding Team into a downtrodden and lifeless bunch. Iligan City were nearly flawless in the 2nd half, swarming Maranding with a debilitating and demoralizing defense.
It was a complete team effort by a squad that pulled themselves through incredible lows with their genuine bond and unflappable chemistry. With the new-comer standing at 6"1" Jack Roa known as the "Bull" , the unstoppable surprising threes of Rain C. Ecleo, and the crazy alley oops of Dan Labado & Joshua Ray Dinglasa- It was a giant sigh of relief for the brains of the team Dehron BigBangs Lorenzo AKA Gang2x Lariosa.
The ultimate prize for Iligan City will continually be tested until they'll bring back the trophy that has long been forgotten.
Asenso Iliganon!
